Our 2023 Summer Internship program is a wonderful opportunity for rising 2024 graduates to immerse themselves in an innovative and mission driven culture. We are excited to bring on a Modeling and Systems Engineer Intern to our large segment team this summer. This is an exciting and innovative opportunity to gain experience and insight into an emerging AI space!

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be a part of an agile team working to provide realistic modeling and simulation environments for training AI agents to fly large segment aircraft (fighter jets). You will help modify existing tooling to aid in the evaluation of AI agents. There will be learning opportunities revolving around the machine learning space (deep reinforcement learning, specifically), library / API development to support multiple languages, server/client configurations, and VR technologies.
• Your 10 week project will be focused to do:
• Modify existing simulation interface class or create a new one for evaluation in our common simulation library
• Migrate existing sim specific interfaces to use the new eval interface
• Implement specific sim interface function calls
• Determine ideal manner of running agents in the different simulation environments
• Provide support for integrating agents in the various simulation environments
• Integrate common simulation library into HCAA (VR setup)
• Test agents with various sim configurations with VR
• Some of your key milestones will include:
• Requirements gathering
• Design
• Feedback (Agile)
• Implementation
• Deployment

Required qualifications:

• Must be a rising Senior, rising Master’s or PhD graduate, preparing to graduate Spring 2024
• Computer Science / Engineering / Machine Learning active degree

Preferred qualifications:

• Active SECRET Clearance (but not necessary)
