The Opportunity

The Mobile Team Leader will be leading a mobile team including Child Protection and Education outreach workers and facilitators in order to increase our reach and access to Out of School (OoS) and relevant host and refugee community members through identification, information dissemination sessions, and awareness raising meetings. The project overall aims to strengthen educational access among host and refugee community children through an integrated multisectoral approach. S/he will regularly monitor, support and supervise the daily, weekly and monthly activities of mobile team and ensure regular coordination with Protection and Education Coordinator. The lead will also regularly report Project Manager and collaborate with MEAL members.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • BSc/BA/BEng level education preferably in Psychology, Social Work, and/or Educational Sciences with pedagogical formation, but other fields such as Social Sciences, Development Studies or similar can also be relevant or equivalent field experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the field of either education or child protection within humanitarian/development sector.
  • Experience in mobile team management (e.g. outreach and follow up)
  • Previous experience and familiarity with working local authorities (e.g. municipalities, District Directorate of National Education (DDNoE), Ministry of Family and Social services)
  • Knowledge about community-based programming.
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Able to work independently as well as in team to ensure timely results of high quality.
  • Capacity and willingness to be flexible in difficult working circumstances.
  • Able to travel to field sites where necessary.
  • Commitment to and understanding of child rights, the aims and principles of Save the Children, and humanitarian standards such as the Sphere Charter and the Code of Conduct. In particular, a good understanding of the Save the Children mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support.
  • Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English and Turkish, with experience in working with multicultural teams.
  • Proficiency in Arabic (both written and spoken) will be an advantage.

Position holder will be based in Hatay, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application.
