EXTERNAL VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

FH/Uganda is actively seeking for qualified candidates committed to its Heartbeat and Corporate Strategy to fill the career opening on a rolling basis;

Position Type: Full Time National Staff

Location: Amudat (1) Nakapiripirit (1)

Reports to: Project Coordinator- Health & Nutrition

Contract Length: 6 Months (Fixed)

Start Date: December 2022- To be hired on rolling basis

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator- Health & Nutrition, the Maternal Infant Young Child and Adolescent Nutrition (MIYCAN) Facilitator will support in the implementation of community nutrition activities integrated in mother care (MC) and male change agent (MCA) groups. Provide health and nutrition education and counseling at the health facilities, integrated outreach posts and general food distribution (GFD) points.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Result #1 Integrate Maternal Infant Young child and adolescent nutrition in mother care and male change agent groups

Key Result #2 Implement the care group modules through provision of timely lessons to the group members

Key Result #3 Provide integrated health and nutrition outreach all health facility catchment areas

Job Level Specifications

  • Have the willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long distance walking to screening sites
  • Have the ability to work in an environment where there are physical discomforts associated with change in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust or dirt
  • Be willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited.
  • Must have motorcycle riding skills with a valid and clean permit and be willing to access communities by motorcycle

Education & Experience

  • Have a minimum of Diploma in Nutrition, Public Health, Community Health, Nursing or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in similar setting required.
  • Have related working experience in humanitarian contexts (conflict/insecure contexts) preferably.

Language Skills

  • Proficient in English. Knowledge of local language is added advantage
