Description of Duties

Responsibilities

  • The TPM Operations Officer is responsible for all assigned tasks by Regional Coordinator as follows:
  • Conduct visits and verification of at least 10 cleared sites for each of PM/WRA’s IPs during the past quarter in RMAC-C & parts of RMAC-N on quarterly basis.
  • Visiting one active clearance sites for each of PM/WRA’s IPs in the RMAC-C & parts of RMAC-N on quarterly basis. During these visits observe and determine whether the safety and quality guidelines are adhered to.
  • Visiting one Spirit of Soccer ERW risk education engagement in RMAC-C & parts of RMAC-N on quarterly basis. These visits are to assess the training module for content conformity, participating in the training, observing and making recommendations on the training.
  • Preparing Monitoring and Evaluation Reports/update on daily and weekly basis.
  • Engage local communities in the locations reported by PM/WRA IPs to determine and confirm CWD and MRE activities in their location. Determine whether the activities by the PM/WRA IPs had improved the quality of life. Determine whether access to basic social services and economic opportunities had improved through the activities of the PM/WRA’s IPs.
  • Assess impact of CWD and MRE activities on cross cutting issues of gender and disaggregation of data by sex and age.
  • Consider the beneficiaries’ suggestions/opinion on what needed to be improved or done differently.
  • Ensure to conduct after-action reviews after site visits and include the same in your daily/weekly reports to the Regional Coordinator Central (RCC).
  • Ensure field visits for data collection, focus group discussions, key informant interviews and desk review.
  • Ensure regularly update, relevant monitoring and tracking tools and share with RC for consolidation.
  • Assist in the development of relevant M&E tools and frameworks.
  • Assist in the timely preparation of data analysis at regional level and share with RC on weekly basis for consolidation of internal and external reports.
  • Create and integrate graphics in reports and information products to help visualize meaning of data.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of assessments, studies, surveys and data collection methodologies.
  • Work closely with IPs to ensure that project-relevant information is shared promptly.
  • Provide weekly reports based on thorough site visits that monitors, verifies and reports the activities conducted by IPs.
  • Report any capacity gap on an ongoing basis as it relates to TPM implementation.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Regional Coordinator and Project Manager.

Requirements

Required Competencies & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and understanding of mine action mandates and operations.
  • Capacity to produce coherent and good quality reports.
  • Capacity to think critically and analyze quantitative and qualitative data. Ø General computer skills (use of MS Office package, Internet) Ø Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours at different locations.
  • Flexible and adaptable to any situation.
  • Self-reliant and able to work independently.

Academic Qualifications/Experience/Language

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, humanitarian and/or development studies, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within the Mine Action.
  • Previous experience in either programme implementation, coordination, analysis or monitoring and evaluation is essential.
  • Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
  • Working conditions:
  • Salary range between $5,000 USD – $6,000 USD
