Migration Safeguarding Specialist – Ukraine Location: UK Flexible Hours: 35 hours per week Contract type: 12 months fixed term with the possibility of extension Salary: £35,000 per annum (Plus inner London weighting allowance of £3,344 per annum if applicable)

We have a new opportunity for a Migration Safeguarding Specialist – Ukraine to join us on a 12-month fixed term basis.

About the role

You’ll support individuals who are looking to relocate to the UK from Ukraine and surrounding countries, as well as British Red Cross staff and volunteers across the UK in providing support and guidance relating to migrating Ukrainian children and adults.

The role involves working alongside our Family Reunion & Refugee Support teams and will report to the Safeguarding Manager with indirect reporting to the Family Reunion service.

This might be the role for you if …

  • You have directly worked with children & families and have excellent knowledge of safeguarding children at risk of abuse or harm
  • You have a good understanding of international and UK safeguarding best practice and an understanding of safeguarding risks particularly associated with conflict
  • You have knowledge of UK migration policies and schemes
  • You have excellent communication skills, written and oral, including interviews with distressed individuals
