Migration Manager for Guatemala Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response Program

Tetra Tech International Development (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a potential Migration Manager position on an anticipated USAID-funded program in Guatemala.

The proposed activity aims to support women, men, children, adolescents and other vulnerable groups who are victims of gender-based violence and intrafamily violence in targeted communities with high rates of violence and out-migration to the United States.

This will be a long-term position for five years based in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Responsibilities:

*Provide day-to-day management and coordination of project migration activities;

* Provide timely advisory support in the design of research tools and methodologies in relevant areas regarding irregular migration to the United States;

*Develop high quality analysis of potential links between gender-based violence and irregular migration;

*Conduct secondary research, literature reviews, and key informant interviews;

*Design and implement gender-based violence prevention activities in targeted communities, including working with youth and men to reduce gender-based violence, which impact irregular migration;

* Ensure effective programmatic response to areas of highest vulnerability to gender-based violence during irregular migration;

* Liaise with relevant stakeholders at all levels – including government entities, local community organizations, civil society, and the private sector to strengthen capacity of institutions providing services to populations at risk of gender-based violence and irregular migration;

* Monitor and evaluate the work of team members, project components, and partners;

*Provide strong analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, as well as recommendations in line with policy and academic standards.

Qualifications:

* Master’s degree in social work, psychology, law, public or business administration, or related field;

* At least seven (7) years of experience implementing evidence-based, demonstrably effective support of migrants and irregular migration prevention, migration strategies in support of at-risk youth, women and girls, their parents and families;

* At least five (5) years supervisory work experience;

* Proven experience in writing research papers, policy briefs, and reports;

* Relevant programmatic/operational experience in relevant migration research topics;

* Full professional proficiency in Spanish is required.
