We are looking for a Programme Officer within the Eurasia and North Africa Team. They will have an initial focus on supporting our programme in the Middle East (Gaza & West Bank, OPT).
The Programme Officer will provide partner liaison, programme, and communications support to Tearfund’s work in Gaza & West Bank, OPT, in line with the Middle East Response Strategy. To guide and support the partners with effective design, assessment, resourcing and monitoring of partner projects in support of the delivery of Tearfund’s country strategy, whilst ensuring projects reflect Tearfund Quality Standard commitments.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor Degree in management, sociology, Development or any relevant field.
- Good professional experience in programme implementation and cycle specifically in working with partners in the Middle East involved in humanitarian work or similar project management experience.
- Very good organisational and scheduling skills
- Very good time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
- Flexibility-Able to take initiative and be willing to adjust with situation
- Computer literate – able to use Microsoft and Google Suites
- Able to learn and use new applications effectively
- Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic
- Passport holder of a country with relative access to the Middle East i.e. Gaza and the West Bank, OPT
- Solid understanding of the socio-political dynamics happening in the Middle East with regards to the conflict
Applicants must be in sympathy with Tearfund’s Christian beliefs.
The position is based in Amman, Jordan, and requires frequent travel to various field locations within the region. Applicants must therefore possess a valid passport/ visa stating the right to live and work in Jordan and eligible to enter WestBank and OPT without visa.
