The CFO is responsible for the MCAPS Finance function within Switzerland
Reporting directly to the CFO of MCAPS Western Europe, this role is part of the MCAPS WE finance leadership team making key decisions around people, business processes and business impact.
This role is also the key business partner for the Switzerland General Manager and forms part of the Swiss leadership team accountable for delivering business results for Switzerland whilst operating within Microsoft company policies and local laws. You must create a clear financial strategy for the country that aligns to business goals and drive results consistent with the goal.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to attract, hire, develop and retain the very best finance talent from the market as well as internally from within Microsoft. You must ensure that you appropriately prioritize your time and that of the finance team to drive tangible frontline business impact by building and implementing business strategies to accelerate profitable growth whilst also ensuring the finance team still delivers core processes and rhythms across the region.

Prioritize
Leads business analytics and research activities determining present and future financial performance, formulating and evaluating financial plans, economic transactions, and future opportunities. Prepares, summarizes, and drives recommendations.
Leads effort to work with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget and to generate operational plans and strategy within their organization. Leads annual planning and forecasting processes. Reviews, analyzes, and prepares recommendations for preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from senior business and commercial stakeholders.
Provides direction and actionable insights on the state of the business to key stakeholders. Orchestrates the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including closing, recurring business review preparation, sharing trends, and budgeting. Guides team to focus on driving profitable growth by being an integral part of planning and performance tracking processes. Collaborates and empowers others to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.
Leads customer relationship management. Oversees complex negotiations with customers. Ensures that organization and teams remain customer-centric. Develops strong relationships with customers at senior levels. Develops capabilities of teams to engage with customers on their wider relationships with Microsoft. Manages balance between customer centricity, enablement of sales, and cost effectiveness. Drives recommendations for solutions to complex financial issues with customers.
Partnership
Partners with senior business and commercial leaders to drive performance and strategy to achieve the best return on investment (ROI) and shareholder return. Gains commitment from stakeholders to align execution and mitigate risk. Guides team to focus on generating actionable business insights to drive profitable growth and shareholder return by being an integral part of the business decision making process. Partners across boundaries to remediate and resolve complex issues.
Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft business, industry, and drivers of shareholder return to ensure senior leaders are presented with the most relevant data, insights, risks, and recommendations necessary to support strategy execution. Leverages business expertise to attract and inspire talent and help others reach their full potential.
Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact the broader organization and Microsoft’s long-term goals.
Works with Microsoft experts to identify and leverage advanced tools and technology to aid in achieving greater production, autonomy, and goal attainment. Drives improvements in data management through automation.
Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward looking narratives and forecasts. Provides clarity and alignment with senior leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Coaches team to translate data into a simplified and engaging message with actionable insights. Facilitates a shared understanding and awareness of business partner situation.
Protect
Drives the right tone from executive leadership and ensures strict adherence and understanding of Microsoft policies on risk and compliance. Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization. Directs team and holds others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed. Guides team and encourages others to identify and share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate. Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates and promotes best practices and new developments. Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Advances key compliance initiatives.
