Polish Red Cross is looking for a MHPSS Technical Coordinator to provide technical assistance and support in Polish Red Cross MHPSS team for affected people fleeing from Ukraine and residents of Poland in need of support.

Job terms: Full time
Type of job: Service Contract / Contractor
Contract length: 12 months (with possible extension depending on performance)
Starting date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the focal point and resource person regarding technical aspect of MHPSS programming and training in PRM
- Provide technical advice on integrating MHPSS into programmes, projects, and humanitarian responses in Poland
- Enhance internal awareness and capacity of National Society in relation to MHPSS
- Contribute to the development and roll out of MHPSS programs in the National Society and standard IFRC/RCRC training and other resources on MHPSS
- Design, implement and facilitate training/workshops for managers, staff and volunteers in National Society based on existing standard IFRC trainings on MHPSS and field needs
- Coordinate National Society providing humanitarian assistance in terms of MHPSS in response to people fleeing from Ukraine to recognize and face the needs of the affected people and the most vulnerable on international IFRC/IASC standards.
- Strengthen National Society capacities on a long-term, leveraging their knowledge and competences in MHPSS as part of their development process
- Support a harmonized MHPSS technical response within the Phone Call Center
- Support NS to be active MHPSS actor in cluster and coordination mechanisms
- Disseminate knowledge, products, operational tools and guidelines on MHPSS
- Coordinate with Regional and Global MHPSS mechanisms and networks
- Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross and Red Crescent principles
- Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager
The successful candidate will be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:
Education
Required
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as mental health, psychology, or social work
Experience
Required
- At least 3-5 years of experience working in coordinating role on MHPSS
- Extensive experience with providing inputs to ensure that MHPSS is mainstreamed in humanitarian programs throughout the project cycle
- Have extensive experience with facilitating group and on-the-job trainings with good knowledge of the adult learning cycle
- Demonstrated experience of MHPSS coordination in a range of contexts.
- Experience in coordination, basic case management, program development, training, referral paths and supervising
- Demonstrate knowledge in international standards of MHPSS as IASC/TENTS/IFRC
Preferred
- Work experience with IFRC or a Red Cross/Red Crescent National Society
- Demonstrated coordination or team management experience in an organization within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, or in an international organization or NGO is preferred
- At least three years of field experience in emergency settings
Knowledge and Skills
Required
- Up to date knowledge of the situation of refugees and migrants in Poland
- Good knowledge of international humanitarian standards on MHPSS
- Broad understanding of MHPSS in emergencies contexts
- Strong ability to incorporate MHPSS into operations and programmes
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Strong skills in assessment and analysis
- Excellent ability to work effectively as part of multi-professional teams and engage in a respectful, considerate manner with staff and communities.
- Flexible and adaptable, at ease in ambiguous high intensity emergency environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems
Languages
Required: Fluently spoken and written Polish
Preferred: Good command of Ukraine and/or Russian and/or English (written and spoken)
