  1. About MESPT

Micro-Enterprises Support Programme Trust (MESPT) is a Kenyan development organization established in 2002. MESPT’s overall objective is to promote economic growth, employment creation and poverty alleviation through enterprise development. This is achieved predominantly through support to the development of agricultural value chains whilst embracing and promoting the green growth and climate change agenda. Through its vision of building a more Prosperous Society, MESPT facilitates increased commercialization, decent employment, and green transformation through targeted interventions in the selected value chains. The Trust is a multi-donor entity jointly founded by the Government of Kenya and the European Union who later relinquished their position to the Royal Danish Embassy in Kenya, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (DANIDA).   1. Rationale of the assignment

MESPT lacks a comprehensive Management information system to centrally coordinate organization-wide business operations hence collaboration and information management in and between business units has not been easy. In addition, lack of systems integration and inadequate capacity by staff has led to underutilization of existing ICT Solutions as a significant number of business functions are done manually. Lastly data security is a growing concern worldwide hence the need to embrace ICT solutions that will minimize / eliminate the exposure risk to the institution. Therefore, MESPT seeks to establish an ICT system for enhanced operational and data management efficiency by ensuring: –

  • business operations and processes are efficiently streamline across the organization
  • business operations are integrated hence fostering growth and collaboration
  • Redundant business processes are eliminated for increased productivity
  • Enhance business reporting through real time capturing of data/ information.
  • A centralized data management system is in place and accessible by all business functions
  • Data is kept safe and regulated with built-in protection.
  1. Overall Objective of the Assignment

The overall objective of this assignment is to establish a suitable system that will caters for and integrate organization -wide ICT requirements across all the business functions including but not limited to Programme management, Monitoring & Evaluation, grant management, as well as fund raising and proposal development. In specific MESPT aims to develop and implement Salesforce ERP/CRM through automation of key organization-wide operational processes and business functional units. This will enable MESPT to enhance its business operations and data management efficiency.

  1. Specific Objective of the assignment

In specific MESPT seeks to engage qualified Salesforce ERP/CRM developers based in Kenya to: –

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment on organisation-wide ICT systems’ functional needs and map out process workflows across the business functional units.
  • Develop and implement Salesforce ERP/CRM and other supporting systems and functionalities based on findings from the comprehensive assessments.
  • Facilitate the process of data capture from manual records as well as data migration from old to new systems.
  • Offer necessary IT support and user training during and after systems deployment while ensuring functional stability is attained.
  1. Qualifications and competencies of the firm

The suitable Salesforce consultancy firm must have the following minimum qualifications

  • Must be a legally registered firm with over 5 years in organizational IT systems implementation.
  • Must demonstrate evidence of similar work done in large and complex organizations, preferably for a non-profit setting.
  • Demonstrated experience having implemented at least 5 Salesforce ERP/CRM systems in the last 5 years for preferably for a non-profit setting.
  1. Qualifications and competencies of proposed team

The team lead should have at least the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other relevant combination of training and experience
  • Must possess at least 5yrs and above hands-on experience in setting up, customizing, and managing integrated information systems with Salesforce.com System Administration.
  • Demonstrated Experience in implementation of at least 5 Salesforce projects for large and complex organizations including 3yrs and above experience in database, network administration, or system administration experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up, customizing, and managing integrated information systems for large and complex organizations including experience in database, network administration, or system administration experience.
  • Should be familiar with not-for-profit organizational environment and dynamics, which will be an added advantage.

The support team should have at least the following qualifications: –

  • BSc. Computer Science or Related Discipline
  • 3 – 5 years hands on experience with Salesforce.com System Administration or other well-established CRMs.
  • Demonstrated Experience in implementation of at least 3 Salesforce projects for large and complex organizations including 3yrs and above experience in database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of Practical Experience in Share Point implementation

Additional Knowledge and skills required

  • Experience in improvement of business workflow processes and supply chain management
  • Knowledge in programme management cycle.
  • Experience with Excel Connector or other data loader tools
  • Demonstrates commitment to working with a values-based organisation
  • Has excellent research, analytical planning and organisational skills
  • Strong writing, presentation, communication in English
  • Has the ability to work under pressure
