JOB TITLE : Mentor

LABOR CATEGORY: (USN/FN1)

MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB :

To provide direct support to the Mentor Manager in overseeing day-to-day training operations within the Sallyport Mentor Department. Mentor and train all security sections in compliance with Balad Performance of Work Statement (PWS and ISO 18788 Management Systems for Private Security Operations.

Staff Responsible For: Mentor and Compliance Training

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct day to day Mentoring with IQAF and Sallyport personnel.
  • Develop training material and compliance procedures to enable well-planned and effective Mentor support.
  • Conduct integration training for IQAF and Sallyport personnel.
  • Conduct in-service training and firearms re-qualification to IQAF and Sallyport personnel.

Person Specification:

Years Of Experience

Essential: Five (5) years’ experience as instructor in a security field – experience can be gained in the employment of any National, State, Provincial, local or commercial entities providing high threat protection services.

Three (3) years’ experience in protective security assignments.

Two (2) of those years in a supervisory role or in charge capacity.

Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential: Level 3 English proficiency

High School (Middle School) diploma minimal

Verifiable Instructor Certification in necessary areas (Firearms, Special Weapons and Tactics, Tactical Driving. etc.) gained through military, law enforcement or private security experience

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

Good people skills, communications skills and ability to create and maintain positive working relationships.

Consistently demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness loyalty and commitment.

Understanding of cultural factors and sensitivities when working with Iraqi Military and Iraqi civilian co-workers.

Willing to be flexible regarding hours and respond quickly to time sensitive or urgent requirements.

Ability to work in harsh climatic conditions and under austere living conditions with the potential for an element of danger.
