Position Summary:

The Medical Strategist is a growth-oriented role that is designed to transform a candidate in the early stages of their pharma career into a strategic communications powerhouse. With dedicated coaching and oversight, the Medical Strategist will participate in a breadth of communications activities while gaining depth of knowledge in assigned client accounts. Over time, the Medical Strategist will independently collaborate with nearly all departments, such as creative, strategy and account services on the creation of strategic and tactical deliverables which communicate the value of our clients��� therapies to HCPs and patients.

The Medical Strategist will work across multiple therapeutic areas; applicants are encouraged to highlight any therapeutic areas in which they have specific expertise. Some foundational experience with agency, medical writing or the pharmaceutical industry is required for this role. Applicants are required to have experience interpreting and communicating clinical literature and data.

This position has ample opportunity for growth within the expanding Medical Department and the newly created Intouch Medical Communications affiliate.
Responsibilities:

��� Under supervision, the medical strategist will:
��� Provide medical strategy and direction for assigned accounts
��� Quickly gain deep knowledge of therapeutic area and drug products for assigned accounts
��� Develop and present medical downloads and lunch-and-learns to teach internal teams about disease states, drug products, clinical trials, treatment guidelines and competitive landscape
��� Independently develop scientific content, including interpretation and analysis of data across a wide range of project types
��� Support the broader Medical team on individual projects as needed
��� Collaborate with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on strategic deliverables for clients
��� Collaborate with the Creative team to ensure content is credible, accurate and on-strategy; may assist with finding and annotating reference support
��� Perform scientific literature searches; distill complex clinical data into compelling strategy and copy
��� Participate in client meetings as needed, which may include presenting content or responding to medical/strategy questions
��� Support Medical-Regulatory-Legal (MRL) review meetings as needed

What are we looking for? (Requirements)

��� M.D., Ph.D., or Pharm.D.[DS1]
��� One or more years of experience in an agency or pharmaceutical industry supporting scientific communications, medical affairs or medical education
��� Highly proficient with MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
��� Expertise with clinical trial design and outcomes
��� Familiarity with FDA marketing regulations and the Medical-Regulatory-Legal (MRL) review process
��� Meticulous attention to detail
��� Superb written and verbal communication skills, including confidence with delivering presentations to internal and client audiences; knack for teaching scientific concepts to non-medical colleagues
��� Takes pride in producing accurate work and meeting deadlines
��� Brings a positive, collaborative and problem-solving attitude
��� Demonstrates initiative and energy in pursuing assignments
��� Eager to learn and contribute; not afraid to ask questions
��� Nice to have: knowledge of digital marketing; medical writing background; AOR agency experience

��� [DS1]Usually, we include that equivalent education plus professional experience can satisfy the education requirement but that supplements the requirement for a bachelor���s degree. Should we add in something similar even though the requirement here is for a doctoral degree?
