ELAF for Relief and Development

(Elaf RD) Is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization that was established and registered in January 2015, in Gaziantep, Türkiye. Registration No: 27-019-083. With the fast escalation of the conflict in Syria, and due to the increasing needs of the refugees in the neighboring countries and inside Syria, Elaf RD established, Hatay offices in Turkey, and 4 Field offices in northwest Syria.

ELAF RD is a diverse and inclusive team, consisting mainly of individuals from both Syrian and Turkish backgrounds, including both women and men, as well as members with disabilities. Elaf’s main objective is to promote equality, empowerment, and support for most vulnerable and marginalized communities. ELAF RD prides itself on the active involvement of Syrian and Turkish volunteers who contribute their time, skills, and passion to make a positive impact in the lives of those they serve. Through their dedicated efforts, ELAF RD strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment that uplifts and empowers its members, fostering a sense of community and solidarity among boys, girls, women, and disabled individuals.

Elaf RD is dedicated to addressing the interconnectedness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and double nexus in an integrated and comprehensive manner. Our approach is centered around the double nexus, linking humanitarian aid and development assistance for a more effective and sustainable response. We are committed to providing aid to the most deprived communities through substantial long-term solutions in addition to its work to improve the situation of both, the refugees and host communities by focusing on project development and improving the economic situation.

· Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the programs manager to develop and execute project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Act as a point of contact between the programs team and stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication at all stages of the project.
  • Assist in preparing regular progress reports and presentations for the programs manager and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage projects resources, including budget allocation, ensuring efficient utilization and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Assist in resource planning and allocation, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower and materials.
  • Identify potential risks and issues that may affect projects timelines or objectives and escalate them to the programs manager.
  • Collaborate with the programs manager to develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Ensure projects activities adhere to established quality standards and procedures, and support in conducting periodic quality assessments.
  • Developing/compiling weekly updates from programs partners.
  • Reviewing and filing Quarterly reports received from program team.
  • Reviewing and filing all the necessary documentation/ correspondence received from program team.
  • Developing master file for all projects separately with all the necessary documents.
  • Compiling cluster meeting Minutes – to file meeting minutes from program team regarding cluster meetings.
  • Developing and updating database for partner’s projects, partner organization, their core team including MEAL, Project staff, Access & Liaison, finance, media people
  • Developing database for project locations in Excel – from province to village, major population, and from all projects and with coordinates
  • Assist Head of Program in identifying any gaps in the reporting mechanism across departments and find out actions to rectify those gaps.
  • Secondary data compilation – cluster updates, need assessments, research reports, etc. for proposal developments.
  • Compile Monthly and Weekly plan for program unit departments in Turkey and Syria.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work responsibilities:
Assist in producing multimedia content such as photos, videos, and graphics.
Archive and organize media assets for easy retrieval.
Coordinate with different departments to collect relevant information to create content.
Assist in building and maintaining a database of media contacts.
Monitor media signals and compile regular media coverage reports.
Attending all activities and events of the Elaph Relief and Development Organization and documenting them with photos and videos.
Assisting in scheduling publications and updating the social media platforms of the Elaph Relief and Development Organization.
Assist in creating social media performance reports.
Scheduling and coordinating interviews with persons speaking on behalf of the Elaph Relief and Development Organization.
Maintain and update media kits, press releases and other essential communication materials.
Assist in tracking budget and procurement processes related to media activities.

Qualification (education/work experience)
University degree in media, communications, journalism or any related field.
At least one year of the same work experience
Basic understanding of media operations and news cycles.
Familiarity with digital media platforms and tools.

Languages:
· Proficiency in Arabic, English and Turkish is required.
