Overview of position:

  • Chelsea Energie is looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Technician for their power plant operations in Madagascar.

Role objectives:

  • Assist the Mechanical Supervisor in performing all the mechanical maintenance activities for engine generator sets, auxiliary equipment & other machineries whether predictive, preventive or corrective maintenance based on the outlined procedures & in compliance with the established standards to ensure the proper functionality.
  • Coordinate on a daily basis with the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor regarding the scheduled predictive, preventive & corrective maintenance as well as other repairs to be performed at the plant’s facility.
  • Perform welding & fabrication works as required in a particular work task per instruction from the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Comply with all Environment, Health & Safety Procedures (EH&S) & standards set by the company to preserve the integrity & safety of personnel & equipment or plant facility as a whole.
  • To perform other works that his / her superior may assign.

Project reporting:

  • This role reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

Key competencies:

  • Must be a holder of the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Knowledge of working on machine shop equipment is a good advantage.
  • Computer literate.
  • Had undergone on the job training at mandroseza power plant for 3 months in the past.
  • Able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a hardworking person & willing to work overtime.

Team management:

  • This role has no team management responsibilities
