Overview of position:
Our client is undertaking a project that aims to restore access to critical urban service in selected cities within the Republic of Yemen under Yemen Integrated Urban Services Emergency Project – Phase 2 (YIUSEP-II). One of these services is the Traitry municipality & solid waste management sector is responsible for implementation & supervision of the sector sub projects in the targeted cities (Sana’a, Aden, Dhamar, Amran, Sa’adah, Mukalla, Al Dale’e, Zinjibar, Taiz and Hodeidah). Under the TMS & SWM sector the following sub projects will be implemented as follows:

• Supply of waste equipment spare parts for Dhamar city CF.
• Rehabilitation of municipality waste landfill in Dhamar.
• Supply of waste compactors for targeted 5 cities (Sana’a, Dhamar, Mukalla, Amran & Sa’adah).

Role objectives:
To hire professional Consultant Engineer able to provide a variety of engineering services required by our client under instructions & directions of the Project Manager, the engineering services desired include, but are not limited to:

• Field supervision for the rehabilitation activities of Dhamar city landfill.
• Carry out the trucks handover procedures supervision & documentation for the cities Sana’a, Dhamar & Amran.
• Prepare spare parts list check, approval & final handover to the beneficiary in Dhamar city.
• Travel frequently to Dhamar & if needed to Amran & Sa’adah cities.

Monitoring & progress controls:

• Prepare a daily work schedule for implementing the works at Dhamar landfill.
• Check the beneficiary spare parts list & prepare the final list for the purpose of purchasing (tender docs).
• Check the specifications of the trucks for the purpose of delivery & supervise the truck’s handover & submit the handover receipts.

Project reporting:

• This role works uner instructions & directions of the Project Manager.

Key competencies:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience working in landfill rehabilitation.
• Excellent oral & written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work as part of a team.
• 4 years working experience in project assessment, design & management experience in municipality waste management, workshop management of waste trucks repairs & maintenance.
• Must have mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience in the usage of computers & software packages (Autodesk AutoCAD, MS office).
• Very good knowledge in written & oral English & Arabic languages is required.
