ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION
The Syrian Association for Relief and Development (SARD) is a humanitarian non-profit agency That provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities in Syria and Turkey. SARD is soleil dedicated to ending Human suffering and is non-political and non-sectarian in its mission.
Since 2013, the SARD has been providing food and non-Food aid to the displaced Syrian population in Northwest Syria and after the earthquake started activities in Turkey. SARD team serves in the border areas of north-western Syria and affected area in Turkey. The coverage area is located between south of Bab Al-Hawa – the border crossing point – and the western provinces of Aleppo and northern Idlib city for Syria. The area accommodates more than 200 settlements of self-managed IDP camps in rural areas along the Turkish border, as well as several collective shelters self-settlement and displaced settlements in villages and peri-urban areas.
- Drafting lessons learned and success stories for the implemented projects.
- Coordinate with the relevant departments to facilitate the field visits of the MEAL assistants and data collectors.
- Coordinate with the relevant departments to raise PRs for the needed materials for the activities and the MEAL team.
- Make sure that the SARD code of conduct and humanitarian principles are applied during the implementation and maintaining the confidentiality of information within MEAL department.
Additional tasks: Perform other duties assigned to him by the direct supervisor and maintain flexibility at work, especially in emergency cases.
Data Collection
- Participate in trainings on tools and methodology
- Follow the workplan and meet targets as set by his/her supervisor
- Participate in data collection as per the methodology
- Ensure that all data collected is saved on Kobo
- Provide any feedback on the tools and/or methodology to his/her supervisor
Code of Conduct
- Ensure that all M&E activities are conducted in full respect to the humanitarian principles.
- Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally as per SARD’s code of conduct.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Minimum BA degree in social sciences, research, development studies or other related studies
- Knowledge of M&E/data collection process and data management.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of work of private institutions and NGOs.
- Experience in emergency work (desirable).
- Excellent experience in Microsoft office especially Excel.
- Self-motivation and strong team spirit.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills.
- Experience using Kobo/ODK (desirable).
- Ability to speak, read and write Turkish and (English, Arabic) desirable.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Under the direct supervision of the MEAL Coordinator, the MEAL Officer will:
- Draft MEAL plans, IPTTs and reports and fill inputs on monthly basis across projects.
- Supervise the MEAL teams on the field level.
- Ensure the MEAL activities are in line with the project activities to achieve the project objectives.
- Coordinate with program staff to ensure data collection activities are carried out according to proposals and measure progress, quality, and impact of activities to target beneficiaries.
- Provide regular updates to supervisor on the progress against targets and on any gaps in target achievement.
- Prepare and share periodic reports about all the issues related to the implementation to the Supervisor.
- Contribute to enhancing beneficiary’s participation thorough meaningful engagement with local communities.
- Ensure beneficiaries feedback and response is collected across all project activities.
- Analysis the MEAL data using Excel and follow up on the proposed recommendations.
- Support the MEAL Coordinator on drafting survey tools according to the context of the implementation areas.
- Manage the MEAL activity tracker to ensure all activities are implemented smoothly.
- Provide data and tools translation support and verbal translation if needed.
Projcet: 6 Month
Location : Adıyaman with regular travel to Mersin when needed
