MEAL Field Officer – On Call

General Description of the Organization:

Ghiras Al-Nahda is a Nonprofit Non-governmental humanitarian organization working to empower people through fulfilling their basic needs and seeking to improve community stability and resilience.

Job purpose:

Implement the MEAL activities for the shelter rehabilitation project in Al-Atareb or Ahterin, providing the requisite data about the project’s activities, and receiving and processing complaints with the direct manager.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Implement MEAL activities that are best developed and provide periodic reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) on MEAL activities.
• Monitor the field program team’s response with any updates or developments and make recommendations.
• Ensure implementation of project activities in a manner that does not violate the internal laws of the communities, their customs, and traditions, and does not affect the dignity and security of the beneficiary.
• Collect and clean data (needs assessment, for example), and ensure delivering clear, relevant and reliable data.
• Conducting field visits, individual interviews and FGDs.
• Ensure community involvement in GAN activities to increase ownership and understanding.
• Monitor the location of the service to ensure the minimum standards of protection, in addition to verify existence of complaints mechanism in the location of implementation for ensure provision of feedback.
• Receiving complaints, registering them, according to the agreed upon procedure.

Experience and qualifications:

• Proficiency in Excel / Kobo.
• University degree in civil engineering.
• Good knowledge of shelter rehabilitation projects.
• Good knowledge of humanitarian standards.
• 1 years’ experience in humanitarian work.
• Good knowledge of the Syrian context and the culture of the community.
• The ability to move around the work area (Al-Atareb or Ahterin).
