The Opportunity- Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Coordinator -Sarajevo or Belgrade based, NATIONAL POST

The MEAL Coordinator plays a key role in assuring programme quality management within Save the Children. They will oversee the entire MEAL system, manage MEAL staff, feed into country office strategy and planning, manage the central MEAL budget, participate in proposal development and lead on reporting to Save the Children.

The role holder will lead on designing and implementing the country’s MEAL framework, a system for monitoring organisational progress against the Quality Framework. Working with the support of the MEAL and wider programme staff, the MEAL Specialist will ensure that the framework is institutionalised within the existing thematic programme cycle.

In order to be successful, you will bring/have:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor degree in a relevant subject required, Master degree preferred
* Thorough understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation processes and methodologies
* Experience in data collection, data management, and analysis
* Strong computer skills with knowledge of data analysis software such as STATA, SPSS, SAS and MS-Office (in particular Excel)
* Significant experience of MEAL-related role in both development and humanitarian contexts
* Experience and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
* Experience working with partners and a participatory approach.
* Ability to write a clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
* Excellent communication skills
* Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
* Previous experience in managing a team and project management
* Experience in training and capacity building of staff.
* Experience with representation and ability to represent SC effectively in external forums.
* A high level of written and spoken English.
* Willingness to travel frequently in the country and to other countries of the region; driver’s licence preferred.
