Sened is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with No. 27-15-175; It arose in response to the suffering of Syrian refugees in Turkey & internally displaced persons in Syria as a result of the war waged by the Syrian regime on its own people and torn apart the entire country. Sened works through the humanitarian work sectors to empower persons with disabilities, their families and communities, advocate for their issues and include their voice in their communities. Sened has become a specialized NGO in the field of working with persons with disabilities and their families since 2015. It takes the aspirations of the founders, persons with disabilities and their families, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) as a compass for its work.
Job Prupose

The MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) coordinator is a professional responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing the MEAL framework of an organization’s programs or projects. The MEAL coordinator ensures that the organization’s programs and projects are effectively monitored, evaluated, and documented, to ensure continuous improvement and learning.

Key Activities/Tasks/Duties

  • Develop and implement the MEAL plan:

The MEAL coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s MEAL plan, which includes the design of the monitoring and evaluation framework, data collection tools, and analysis methodologies.

  • Design and conduct evaluations:

The MEAL coordinator designs and conducts evaluations to measure the effectiveness of the organization’s programs and projects. This involves setting up indicators and targets, developing data collection and analysis tools, and conducting fieldwork.

  • Ensure data quality:

The MEAL coordinator is responsible for ensuring the quality of data collected during monitoring and evaluation activities, and the accuracy of data analysis.

  • Communicate findings:

The MEAL coordinator communicates the findings of the monitoring and evaluation activities to the relevant stakeholders, including program staff, management, and donors.

  • Support learning and adaptation:

The MEAL coordinator supports learning and adaptation within the organization by identifying best practices, sharing lessons learned, and developing strategies for program improvement.

  • Manage accountability mechanisms:

The MEAL coordinator is responsible for managing the accountability mechanisms of the organization, including feedback mechanisms and complaint systems.

  • Coordinate with partners:

The MEAL coordinator coordinates with partners and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of monitoring and evaluation activities and data collection methods.

**Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):

Essential**

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in MEAL coordination or related roles
  • Advanced skills in the English language.
  • Intermediate skills in the Turkish and/or Arabic language
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools

Desirable

  • Experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Ensure that the human resources process and documentation meet the audit and donor requirements
  • Experience working with international development organization
