About SENED

SENED is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization licensed and registered in Türkiye with the number 27-15-175. SENED Organization was established shortly after the Syrian Nakba and in response to the suffering of millions of Syrian refugees in Turkey as well as internally displaced people in Syria, with the aim of alleviating suffering, achieving justice, equality, and freedom, strengthening the role of civil society, and supporting and developing the local community. SENED works in the humanitarian work sectors to support, empower, and educate the community through several programs, and takes special care of people with disabilities and their families and defends their issues.

SENED Association emphasizes the need to create safe, accessible, and participation-encouraging living conditions for the emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development of individuals by focusing on the people with disabilities. Beyond the medical perspective on disability, it tries to find solutions to the problems faced by disabled people with a holistic perspective by considering the disabled people, their families, and the society they live in, focusing on the conditions they experience. SENED Association aims to create a safe and supportive environment and space by conducting family-oriented activities to help disabled individuals and their families to become stronger, discover their potential and stand by with their children. By collecting data on refugee disabled people, identifying problems and needs, SENED strives to ensure harmony between disabled refugees and local people with a voluntary, professional team and a community-based approach. In all activities, education, research, advocacy, etc. carried out on platforms created by local and disabled refugee people.

Job purpose:

The MEAL Assistant will assume a pivotal role in the systematic collection, analysis, and reporting of data pertaining to project activities. Key responsibilities encompass conducting comprehensive interviews, undertaking field visits, administering electronic surveys, and receiving and processing complaints, all with a focus on ensuring data accuracy. The role also entails providing support in designing monitoring and evaluation tools. Proficiency in these tasks is integral to fostering project accountability, evaluating impact, and contributing to the overarching success of Sened.

Duties, objectives and competencies:

1. Data Collection and Entry:

  • Collecting comprehensive data on project activities and performance indicators.
  • Accurately inputting data into designated forms and databases.
  • Ensuring the integrity and cleanliness of the collected data through meticulous validation processes.

2. Interviews and Surveys:

  • Conducting in-depth individual and group interviews to gather qualitative insights.
  • Administering electronic surveys tailored to the specific requirements of project activities, ensuring comprehensive data collection.

3. Field Monitoring:

  • Undertaking field visits to closely monitor the implementation of project activities.
  • Adhering to the monitoring and evaluation plan during field visits to ensure methodological consistency.
  • Preparing detailed reports on field visits, presenting findings, and recommendations to the direct manager.

4. Quality Control:

  • Monitoring activities executed by field program staff to guarantee adherence to project standards.
  • Verifying the scope and quality of activities to ensure alignment with project accountability standards.

5. Receiving and Processing Complaints:

  • Receiving and meticulously documenting complaints and feedback through diverse communication channels.
  • Entering received complaints into the designated complaint tracker.
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback to complainants/respondents to address concerns.

6. Survey Assistance:

  • Assisting in the design of comprehensive surveys and tools for effective monitoring and evaluation.
  • Providing support in conducting surveys, covering needs assessments, baseline surveys, satisfaction surveys, and endline evaluations.

7. Reporting:

  • Actively contributing to the preparation of periodic monitoring and evaluation reports.
  • Inputting and assisting in cleaning data for reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy.
  • Documenting and crafting success stories to highlight project achievements.

8. Verification and Documentation:

  • Systematically collect MoV’s for reference.
  • Documenting lessons learned and best practices, contributing to the organization’s knowledge base and continuous improvement initiatives.

9. Any other tasks requested by the direct manager.

Requirements: Essential

  • Turkish citizenship.
  • Experience in humanitarian work and principles.
  • Fluency in relevant languages (Arabic, Turkish) is required, or fluent command in one and a good command in the other.
  • Good level of proficiency in computer skills, including the use of databases and relevant software for data management (Excel, Word, Kobo toolbox).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to undertake field visits to monitor project implementation, adhering to monitoring and evaluation plans.

  • Skill in designing surveys, presentations and tools for monitoring and evaluation purposes, supporting their effective execution.

  • Contribution to the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports, with proficiency in data input and cleaning.
  • Understanding of and commitment to project accountability principles.
