The Opportunity

As a member of the Programme Development and Quality team, the MEAL assistant provides hands-on support and leads specific MEAL activities.
This includes supporting the design of project M&E, Accountability, and Learning Plans, supporting evaluation studies, implementing project monitoring tools, tracking project outputs and results, and contributing to SCI annual monitoring and reporting. The position also supports effective accountability systems, including beneficiary complaints and response systems, and will contribute to project and organizational learning processes.

In line with SCI Egypt’s MEAL approaches, the MEAL Assistant is responsible for ensuring all MEAL processes are gender-sensitive and are participatory, including capturing the voice of children. The role includes providing direct, hands-on support for project and program MEAL activities. The MEAL Assistant is expected to collaborate with MEAL team members and program and project staff.

Essential:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social studies or development-related fields; postgraduate degree is an asset.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in the Monitoring and Evaluation field.
  • Experience in data management and ensuring quality data collection
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and able to take decisions independently in a fluid context;
  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) and well-working knowledge of English is a must;
  • Well-working knowledge of excel is a must;
  • Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding;
  • Experience with vulnerable/marginalized communities desired
  • Experience with research methods and data analysis in development programming
  • Experience in developing tools and methodologies to and with children
