Job Overview:

The Matching Grant Program Coordinator is responsible for effectively administering services to assist refugees, asylees, and SIVs with significant barriers and vulnerabilities to attain self-sufficiency through employment. Under the supervision of the Employment Supervisor, the Matching Grant Program Coordinator provides employment related services to assist refugee clients to attain self-sufficiency through employment. The MG Program Coordinator provides services that include employment search, client and employer preparation, placement, career enhancement, job training, and assessment and follow-up. The coordinator is also charged with maintaining accurate and timely data collection for employment services, case file management, and reporting on MG donor contracts.

Client Services

  • Provide intake, assessment and orientation to clients eligible for MG services.
  • Develop comprehensive, detailed, and individualized self-sufficiency plans for each employable adult.
  • Identify client barriers to employment and provide referrals to appropriate in-house or community providers.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of employment and self-sufficiency plans to ensure client is on track in reaching self-sufficiency within the program timeframe.
  • Request, manage, and distribute direct assistance to clients.
  • Liaise with other IRC teams to ensure coordination of care and multi-disciplinary approaches are used to address client barriers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to clients to ensure ownership of employment goals.
  • Use personal vehicle as a mode of transport for both self and clients to various job responsibilities in and around the service delivery area, which is a 100-mile radius from the IRC in Phoenix office.

Community Relations

· Develop and cultivate long-term relationships with area employers and social service providers in order to ensure client access to needed services.

Compliance Documentation

· Monitor and track client progress in addressing barriers and reaching employment goals.

· Gather required documentation and data for client case files and complete case closeout procedures.

· Coordinate with finance department to ensure direct assistance is correctly distributed and recorded.

· Input and track client progress through ETO and IRIS employment tracking system.

  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance to all reporting requirements, including database management, case noting, and file maintenance.

Team/Office Participation

· Work as part of a cross-department team to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed, strength-based services to IRC clients through coordination of cases and effective communication between team members and departments.

· Coordinate with colleagues across departments on addressing client needs and barriers to self-sufficiency.

  • Participate in all program meetings, and staff development and wellness activities.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of service provider community and local resources.
  • Proven ability to contribute both independently and as a key team member.
  • Self- starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; bilingual ability in a language spoken by the local refugee population is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance.
  • Must be eligible to receive a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with people of varied backgrounds strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make presentations.
  • Experience using data and fiscal tracking systems strongly preferred.

Position Reports to: Employment Supervisor

Position directly supervises: Interns and volunteers within program.

Indirect Reporting: Sr. Program Manager, Direct Services

Working Environment:

  • Due to COVID-19 Risk Mitigation this position is held as a hybrid of in-office and remote work.

· Varies between standard office environment and traveling and working in and around the service delivery area.
