looking for a Case Managing Paralegal, managing an

asbestos litigation docket. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic and at least three

years of experience working as a paralegal.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drafting legal documents including, but not limited to; pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and correspondence to opposing counsel and the court.
  • Conducting computerized legal research, as well as medical, scientific, and technical literature research. Analyzing materials and preparing a synopsis.
  • Maintaining litigation docket and calendar, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines.
  • Assisting attorneys in preparation for meetings, hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Preparing witness and matter materials for trial preparation.
  • Maintaining, organizing, and tracking case files.
  • Interacting with clients, responding to client inquiries, keeping clients updated on the progress of cases.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of client information in accordance with firm policies.
  • Filing court documents.
  • Training new paralegals and attorneys to learn asbestos products, job sites, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining a database of defendants, settlements, jobsites, and co-workers to assist attorneys with new clients.
  • Drafting and effecting client, co-worker, and expert affidavits.

Assisting attorneys with locating case files and documents.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and two or more years of technical training
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a paralegal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certification
  • Experience working with mesothelioma docket
  • Familiarity with various State and Federal Courts rules and procedures

Professional Skills

  • Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and advanced typing skills are required
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
