The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is seeking a Marketing Specialist. The Marketing Specialist will provide dedicated marketing support and expertise for the Foundation and ensure cohesive messaging with IDSA. The Marketing Specialist will also facilitate and promote strategic relationships and partner activities including connection, strategy, consistency, and execution. In addition, this role will support the marketing of IDSAs strategic priorities, CDC co-ag programs, and other IDSA initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
Characteristic Essential Responsibilities
- Serves as point person and liaison who works closely with cross-functional IDSA Foundation teams, including Individual Giving, Corporate & Foundation Giving, Programs and IDSA marketing-communications to develop and execute cohesive, compelling marketing campaigns for the Foundation.
- Writes, develops, manages and produces marketing and communications content for the Foundation and IDSA strategic initiatives and other programs directed to members, non-members, donors and prospective donors and corporate and Foundation supporters to increase engagement and meet goals, including, but not limited to newsletters, e-mails, web content, direct mail, digital ad campaigns, social media campaigns, presentation decks, proposals and reports.Collects and leverages data and analytics (email open and click-through rates, social media and media impressions, website visits, webinar attendees, etc.) to measure communications and marketing performance and adjust strategy and tactics to maximize effectiveness of IDSA Foundation and IDSA marketing campaigns.
- Manages remarketing campaigns for the IDSA Foundation and IDSA marketing campaigns as needed.
- Works with internal Foundation and IDSA marketing-communications teams to create a quarterly and annual content marketing calendar and identify possible alignment to elevate messaging.
- Manages relationships and budgets with external vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Accountabilities:
- The Marketing Specialist will ensure that marketing and promotional campaigns are developed, managed, and executed in order to engage current and potential members, donors, and other audiences.
- The Marketing Specialist will ensure strategic use of marketing, public relations, and partnerships to support IDSA and IDSAF causes to drive organizational value and positive long-term brand impressions.
- The Marketing Specialist will collaborate closely with staff across the Society and the Foundation to ensure collaboration and cohesiveness in messaging and outreach.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in marketing and/or communications or relevant field; relevant experience can be submitted
- At least threeyears of experience in marketing and communications for an association, foundation or other non-profit
Competencies: Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Experience using multiple channels to boost engagement and return on investment, including email, direct mail, web, digital advertising and social marketing programs
- Prior knowledge and experience in large member/association foundation, fundraising, development, or philanthropic space preferred
- Excellent written and spoken communication with the ability to write marketing collateral in multiple tones/voices as appropriate
- Superb organizational skills, deadline and schedule oriented, yet able to flex with dynamically changing priorities
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others in a team environment
- Proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics or other analytics software.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, iMovie, Spark Video and other design software preferred
- Marketing and communications experience within healthcare organization strongly preferred
