The marketing intern position is responsible to support our business development team, while actively contributing in meaningful ways to our internal and external communication operations in our Lexington, Kentucky headquarters. Success includes revenue and profitability growth as well as implementation of marketing / brand recognition strategies.

Marketing Intern Responsibilities

  1. Assist in building the Bristol brand and image high-quality and low-risk solution
  2. Communicate the value offerings unique to Bristol

  3. Acquire market intelligence and data to guide company executives
  4. Assist in the creation of opportunities for customers and prospects to “know, like, and trust” Bristol’s key personnel
  5. Prepare and maintain market intelligence and information that allows Bristol to capitalize on opportunities
  6. Execute an editorial calendar, including social media and blog posts
  7. Monitor digital media analytics and produce synthesized reports
  8. Interact with all silos of management and employee force, as needed to best manage communication projects and deadlines
  9. Maintain social media presence
  10. Take direction from the company’s PR Agency of Record — be a team player
  11. Produce monthly internal e-newsletter, including sourcing content, designing / populating content, and sending
  12. Assist in maintaining the key list of firms to build relationships
  13. Assist in maintaining company’s leads and opportunities database up to date at all times
  14. Asist in maintaining the contact database maintenance and utilization (market area only)
  15. Assist in maintaining competitor project tracking
    • Project size/contract value
    • Selection factors (Why not Bristol?)
    • Performance to goals/schedule

  16. Documentation for marketing efforts

Marketing Intern Requirements

  • Exceptional command of English grammar and mechanics
  • A keen awareness of current communications trends and history
  • Demonstrable experience in all major social media platforms — most especially LinkedIn
  • Experience using Photoshop OR similar programs (mobile apps like Canva) to produce modern marketing materials, social media posts, etc.
  • At least two (2) years of experience writing specifically for social media and web
  • An understanding of marketing objectives and concepts
  • The ability to prioritize effectively and meet challenging deadlines
  • A high level of self-motivation and desire to “own” projects
  • The ability to efficiently communicate your concepts for a target audience in written and verbal form
  • A near-obsessive attention to detail, including typographical errors
  • An appreciation for feedback and the willingness to respond to it quickly, effectively, and optimistically
  • Stellar time management skills
  • Recommended: An understanding of Adobe Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Recommended: Experience with Constant Contact or similar platforms
  • Recommended: A grasp of WordPress and other web content management systems
  • Recommended: Experience using Cision PR Software OR similar platforms
