ABOUT PROJECT WATERFALL
Project Waterfall is an initiative established by The Allegra Foundation (registered charity: 1133540) to bring clean drinking water and sanitation to coffee growing communities. Since 2011, the charity has raised over £1.7 million and reached over 70,000 people in Nicaragua, Vietnam, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda & Kenya. Project Waterfall has been operating for 10 years with roots firmly in the coffee industry. Our main fundraising efforts to date have been centred around our flagship campaign, UK Coffee Week, which takes place every year in April / May and sees thousands of coffee shops join to raise funds and awareness in their stores.
THE ROLE
As we enter our second decade of work, we are looking to grow and develop the Project Waterfall brand and increase our audience. The role will include digital marketing, content creation, e-marketing, engaging with the press to secure coverage for Project Waterfall and developing our network of influencers and brand ambassadors. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and increase awareness and engagement with the Project Waterfall brand.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- You’re confident with all things digital
- You know your way around all the major social platforms and are confident using these from a business perspective
- You have a great eye for design
- You can whip up some impressive looking graphics in a heartbeat and you know your way around Canva or Adobe Suite You’re passionate about our cause
- You know not everyone in the world is as lucky as we are, and you want to do something to change it You’re great with words
- You know how to tell compelling stories and your writing style is friendly & flawless You’re independent and self motivated
- You can handle day to day tasks without constant supervision
- You’re a team player
- You work well with others and you’re happy help by taking on the odd task outside your core role
- You’re on the pulse
- You’re a news and trends junkie, you know what’s going on in the world around you You’re a fast learner
- You love learning new skills and you pick things up easily
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create compelling and powerful content to engage our audiences across all platforms
- Manage all digital marketing for the charity – including e-marketing, social media, website updates and blog content
- Reach out to relevant press and secure coverage for Project Waterfall
- Develop our ambassador program and engage new influencers for Project Waterfall
- Support team at key events and campaigns, including UK Coffee Week and The London Coffee Festival
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a digital marketing role
- Fluent English and a right to work in the UK
- Experience in the coffee or hospitality sector
- Copywriting and design skills
- Event management skills would be a bonus
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year DOE
