Job Summary
The ACAA’s Marketing & Communications Internship will expose the student to the communications aspect of working at an international airport and with the airline industry. The intern will receive hands-on experience in communications activities, including branding and all forms of owned, earned, and paid media (advertising, public relations, events, social media, website development/deployment, digital marketing, etc.).
Here is how the Marketing & Communications Intern will help:

  • Create content for the Airport Authority’s news platform, Blue Sky News.
  • Assist with media relations: writes news releases, prepares background information, prepares staff media statements, and maintains media lists.
  • Provide writing support for materials including, newsletters, social media, and website content.
  • Support planning and execution of Airport events.
  • Write and edit text for a variety of print and digital materials.
  • Design and format communication materials.
  • Contribute to communication/media strategies.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications
Requirements to apply for role of Marketing & Communications Intern are:

  • Second year undergraduate from an accredited four-year college or university in Communications, Marketing, or Business.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:

  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe and social media.
  • Strong copyediting and research abilities.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Adobe Photoshop all a plus.
