A Marketing Assistant job is available with a pioneering IT startup in Tysons Corner, VA. As the Marketing Assistant, you will assist with social media, help manage events, communicate to students, and help generate buzz around higher education. To be considered, you must have a bachelor’s or associates degree and at least one year of social media experience. Work alongside this team of passionate and determined problem solvers as you support day to day tasks. Marketing Assistant Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and execution of the communication, social media, and outreach strategy for student advocacy and engagement
  • Creates and sends timely content to student and educator email listservs, newsletters, and social activations
  • Assist with the implementation of robust, multi-year project plans pertaining to student texting interventions
  • Assist in the development and execution of the communication, social media, and outreach strategy for student advocacy and engagement
  • Support ongoing event planning to celebrate students making the commitment to attend college, including College Signing Day, Beating the Odds, Excellence in College Counseling, and other stakeholder events

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates degree in education, psychology, anthropology, communication, marketing or other related field required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a college coaching or advising capacity in programs like AmeriCorps or College Advising Corps is a plus
  • Experience supporting brands through social media campaigns or experience executing texting campaigns/interventions is a plus
  • Event coordination experience is desirable
