Full Job Description 

The Opportunity:

The role of Marketing & Communications Manager is expanding to become a full-time position to meet the demands of the rapidly growing and dynamic business. The successful applicant will be based at Knepp (with some hybrid working if desired), working closely with team leaders and the family owners.

Our hope is that in time, the successful applicant will lead on marketing strategy across the business, working closely with department team leaders and the head of finance. They will also implement and monitor the strategy and crucially, will help integrate the different strands of the business with appropriate cross-selling.

About the Role:

It is anticipated that at least half the time will be focussed on marketing and comms for the Knepp Wilding Kitchen and Shop and the remainder of role will be spread over comms and marketing for rewilding and other Knepp enterprises.

  • Increase awareness, understanding, engagement and interest in Knepp’s activities, and across their audiences.  
  • Lead and deliver a marketing strategy that aligns with the organisational strategy. 
  • Take ownership of and maintain the Knepp website, using your knowledge of SEO to increase traffic and engagement. 
  • Take ownership of all content development, across multiple platforms and medias. 
  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for marketing. 
  • Be responsible for the analysing and reporting of the impact of marketing to the management team.
  • Maintain Knepp’s current tone of voice and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. Be a brand guardian, ensuring all team members adhere to brand guidelines and messaging.  
  • Analyse client trends and identify market expansion opportunities. 
  • Work closely with other team members to ensure marketing initiatives align with overall company goals, values and culture. 

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Personal alignment with Knepp’s vision and ethos.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and executing long and short-term marketing strategies that support the overall business objectives.
  • Experience developing and executing cross- channel marketing campaigns that support both commercial and ideological business goals.
  • Expertise in planning, creating and scheduling social media posts, reels and TikTok videos.
  • Experience conducting email marketing and building subscriber lists.
  • Experience strategizing and executing paid social media campaigns using Meta Business Suite.
  • A strong background in copywriter with the ability to create content that aligns with brand values and tone of voice.
  • An appreciation for digital storytelling and the ability to write content that is insightful, intelligent, compelling and influential.
  • An outlook that is keen to continue learning and to refine and improve skills.
  • Experience in generating marketing reports and presenting insights and strategies to senior management.
  • Confident in collaborating with varied members of a team to tease out information and insights that can be used as marketing content.

Desirable:

  • Graduate-level study
  • Experience of working in food, nature, tourism or hospitality sectors
  • You love ethically produced meat and organic veg!
  • PR experience.
  • Video and Audio editing experience.
  • Expertise in design packages such as Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Design or Canva.
