MAGENTA, a dynamic women-led agency specializing in behavioral change, employs social and behavioral sciences to craft transformative solutions for complex challenges. Our core mission is to drive positive development outcomes, particularly by empowering vulnerable populations. We achieve this through robust social and behavior change (SBC) strategies that delve deep into understanding the motivations behind behavioral shifts and addressing their psychological, social, and environmental foundations. Our work revolves around five core thematic pillars: Social and Economic Development, Resilience, Governance, Gender and Social Inclusion, and Climate and the Environment. Our comprehensive suite of interventions includes cutting-edge behavioral research, tailored SBC strategies, targeted campaigns, impactful interventions, and capacity-building initiatives, all grounded in the principles of SBC. We operate from hubs in Amman, Mexico City, Erbil, Islamabad, Bangkok, and Tunis. We have achieved a successful track record by completing over 120 projects in more than 30 countries across six regions. Our projects are funded by USAID, UNICEF, US Department of State, FCDO and the IOM.

The Marketing and Business Development Intern will play an important role in supporting MAGENTA’s marketing and new business efforts. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Marketing and Communications
  • Contribute to developing compelling marketing materials, including for project fact sheets, case studies and capability statements.
  • Work closely with the program team and the US Office to gather information and content to develop marketing materials.
  • Maintain strict compliance with the company’s branding directives across all marketing materials and communications, maintaining a consistent visual and messaging identity.
  • Manage and expand MAGENTA’s social media presence, including scheduling of posts, monitoring engagement metrics, and pinpointing areas for content enhancement.
  • Maintain and update MAGENTA’s website, ensuring it accurately reflects the most recent projects and initiatives.
  • Generate routine reports detailing marketing performance, including website traffic, social media engagement, and provide recommendations for enhancement.
  1. Business Development
  • Work closely with the US Business Development and Partnerships Director to review the USG forecast and update the USG Pipeline on a weekly basis.
  • Facilitate proposal development by conducting research on specific thematic areas related to specific bids, donor strategies, and competitor analysis.
  • Collaborate with writing teams by providing desk research support and helping draft proposal sections as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Education:
  • Recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in marketing, communications, international development, or a related field.
  1. Experience:
  • Prior marketing-related and or business development internships, coursework, or relevant extracurricular activities preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational, writing, formatting, and presentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A creative mindset for generating innovative marketing ideas and content.
  • Basic understanding of analytics tools and data interpretation.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing concepts, including social media.
  • Knowledge of marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite, or marketing automation platforms.
  • Understand branding guidelines and maintaining brand consistency.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency with Office tools, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Flexibility to changing needs and priorities.
  • Availability to work across different time zones.
