R3

The Market Intelligence Team generates robust frameworks for aggregating internal, customer and public information, which is used for informing internal strategy and positioning R3’s solutions in the market. The team works closely with many other internal stakeholders, partnering with subject matter experts, product owners, and customer facing teams.

The Market Intelligence Intern will be required to take ownership over a variety of analytical assignments that support strategic projects across the company. The role is fast paced and constantly evolving. Previous market intelligence interns have demonstrated success by using their spare time to complete a self-paced and more open-ended project that they can work on through the remainder of the summer.

Past projects have included: a detailed analysis of the ICO market (2017), framework for designing CorDapps to comply with MiFid II financial regulations (2018), competitive battlecards on R3’s core competitors in the enterprise blockchain space (2019), and a visual framework for conceptualizing the potential attributes of a central bank-issued digital currency (2020).

This year, the market intelligence intern will focus primarily on the rapidly evolving stablecoin and central bank digital currency (CBDC) landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Steady progress on the intern’s project(s)
  • Ownership of analytical assignments that contribute to R3’s broader research agenda
  • Presenting to internal stakeholders on industry developments and R3’s market positioning
  • Project management of thought leadership campaigns
  • Feedback on thought leadership published by R3
  • Detailing customer feedback
  • Industry landscaping

Experience & Education

  • Excellent writing ability and analytical skills (please provide a writing sample)
  • Intellectual curiosity and deep interest in financial innovations including blockchain
  • Eagerness to engage with other employees across the company
  • Ability to express complex ideas in digestible frameworks, using tools such as PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or data visualization tools
  • Nice to have: familiarity extracting and analysing data from public sources in real time
  • The ideal candidate will currently be enrolled in an undergraduate program, either entering their final or penultimate year

Please note the start date for this position is Monday, 23rd May (subject to change) and our internship program lasts for 12 weeks; at present we can only consider applicants that commit to these time frames.

We cannot provide sponsorship for this position so in order to be considered, candidates will need to have the right to work in the US.

We hope to be able to offer at least some (if not all) of the 12 week internship in person this year- although this will be dependent on the ongoing pandemic and each countries individual guidelines and restrictions. As our main office for the US is in New York, candidates must be able to provide proof of vaccination, in accordance with new New York guidelines.
