What You’ll Do

Cisco’s Global Industry Solutions Group (ISG) is looking for a high-energy, experienced Manufacturing Industry Sales BDM to join our team as we look to help our customers across APJC accelerate their digital transformation journeys. We do this by aligning Cisco’s unified technology platform & digital capabilities to our customers’ business imperatives in the Manufacturing sector.

Business Overview

Reporting to the Global Industry Director of the Industrial & Critical Infrastructure Industry team, this role is responsible for the business alignment of Cisco activity across Manufacturing in APJC to ensure consistency of message, vision, and direction. The Manufacturing Industry BDM will leverage their deep understanding of, and connections in, the manufacturing industry, competitive landscape, and the digital disruption impacting customers to deliver thought leadership, help build and maintain Cisco’s manufacturing industry center of excellence, and drive demand generation, pipeline, and sales opportunities.

Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Uses his/her business development and/or industry experience and subject matter expertise to build and maintain the Cisco Manufacturing industry practice– industry presence, thought leadership, solution development, partner ecosystem, and marketing.
  • Provides input into and execution of a multi-year strategy, Go-to-Market (GTM), and engagement plan for the Manufacturing industry practice, with guidance from theater sales leadership.
  • Helps to build, enable, and sustain a Manufacturing community of interest across APJC that engages the field sales organization, Customer Experience (CX), and Cisco partners through best practice sharing, content development, demand generation, and enablement programs.
  • Collaborates with theater sales & business development teams on selective high impact light house and country digital acceleration engagements and then scales best practices, customer references, sales & marketing content, etc. across the Cisco Manufacturing community.
  • Engages, advises, and mentors field sales, CX, & business development teams on Manufacturing industry campaigns, platforms, business challenges, and customer engagement tactics / strategies.
  • Represents “voice of the customer” to Cisco for demonstrations, architectures, platforms, campaigns, and product requirements.
  • Works alongside solutions architects and other Cisco technical resources to develop strategy, use case priorities, and cross-architectural offer alignment as part of the overall Manufacturing practice.

Who You’ll Work With

This BDM will work closely with Sales, CX, and Marketing leaders and account teams to demonstrate Cisco Manufacturing Thought Leadership, provide Sales and Partner Enablement, and drive Demand, particularly in OT and Line of Business.

Who You Are

Qualification & Experience:

  • Deep applied Manufacturing knowledge and experience obtained in a leadership role working at a customer, partner, or vertically aligned hardware or software vendor.
  • Demonstrated experience, commitment, and passion regarding the potential of Cisco’s portfolio of offers to solve customer business challenges and deliver business value.
  • Understanding of competitive and partner landscape; mature point of view on Cisco’s opportunities and challenges in the Manufacturing industry marketplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to frame customer business imperatives and inspire confidence with a variety of internal and external constituents.
  • Visibility and senior relationships in the Manufacturing customer and partner community within APJC.
  • Expertise in consultative and line of business selling approaches and establishing credibility as trusted advisor by executives, architects, and industry personnel.
  • Experience in developing an ISV / OEM / SI partner ecosystem to drive joint sales or technical engagement.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in an environment of high autonomy.
  • Experience in creating and communicating compelling messages to C-level executives, with an ability to leverage logic, experience, facts, and passion to influence others.
  • Ability to lead & influence teams of diverse backgrounds and geographies to deliver quality results.
  • 10+ years industry experience or equivalent preferred.
