The Role

Al-Futtaim have a special and unique opportunity for an Executive Digital Leader, who is at the forefront of everything digital in all things retail to come and join our fantastic retail business here at Al-Futtaim. You will be responsible for both the MENA & Asia e-commerce portfolio including, business managed products, principal lead and partnerships. The role will also lead the retail digital marketing, product management, content, and creation teams. The role will directly manage the central digital team whilst also working with all brand lead teams to help develop successful digital strategies and programs.

This role will report directly to the President of retail.

Responsibiities

Strategy

  • Define, develop and lead implementation of the retail wide product development strategy aligned with the overall Digital strategy of the group.
  • Design, develop and implement a product development framework and governance for all brands/businesses across retail.
  • Spearhead the product strategy and foundational tech capabilities of all products.
  • Make decisions in partnership with senior business leaders, on digital investments and priorities in product development.
  • Advise and work closely with the marketing and engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.

Delivery

  • Manage all P&L line items related to specific product areas, performance marketing whilst leading on cross-functional initiatives to ensure delivery on financial targets.
  • Lead product teams from conception to launch of different types of products including apps and websites.

Content Creation, VOC & Call Centre

  • Manage output from customer contact centre.
  • You should be able to effectively manage the content for our e-commerce platforms across multiple countries and languages.
  • Content creation will include photography, product content and marketing material.

Customer Data Strategy

  • Define and drive the enterprise-wide analytics vision across strategy, people, process, data and technology.
  • Establish and deliver technologies, tools, approaches and methodologies to unlock the value in enterprise data assets of an organisation.

Customer Focus

  • Remain at the cutting edge of data developments and risks. Drive future customer insight programs for the organisation through the investment in new tools and skillsets.
  • Ability to think as a customer, to anticipate new customer needs and to further develop the range of services to the mutual benefit of both the customer and the brand.
  • Good understanding of the needs of both customers and other stakeholders, e.g. employees, brand principals and partners.
  • Support the delivery of a high quality, immersive and consistent customer experience across all digital channels and touch points.

Strategy & Loyalty marketing

  • Create a data-led loyalty marketing strategy, highlighting business capabilities to be built in the medium to long term.
  • Design and manage campaigns that will drive revenue and profitable growth across all channels and formats & enhance customer engagement & brand Loyalty.
  • Define customer contact plans based on insights and digital calendar in collaboration with business teams.

Education

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Masters or MBA (Or similar)

Minimum Experience And Knowledge

  • 15 – 20 plus years’ experience across digital, technology, product management and digital marketing. Experience of working with apps/websites in retail for example Shopify or Zalando.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, creative leader with the ability to transform a company to digital from store.
  • Experience of leading a marketplace would also be a plus.
  • IT experience would be a plus.
  • Perceptive and creative leader and a reliable problem solver.
  • Ability to manage large teams whilst also dealing with senior stakeholders and C-Suite leadership.
