Manager, Supply Chain CH & Distributors

Position Summary

The Manager Supply Chain Switzerland will be primarily responsible to oversee and manage 4PL operations in Switzerland. This includes, budget creation and control, performance management and contract negotiations.

Additionally, the position holder ensures ongoing & uninterrupted supply of medicinal goods and will manage local inventory and is responsible to replenish Finished Goods from the CMO to the 4PL and distributors.

The position is embedded in the Apellis Schweiz organization and reports to the Associate Director, International Supply Chain based in Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Lead monthly demand review process and support S&OP process
• Manage the local FG inventory at 4PL in Switzerland.
• Develop FG replenishment plan for 4PL in Switzerland.
• Minimize risk of inventory obsolescence through inventory analysis
• Execute ERP Transaction in SAP
• Manage returns from customer to 4PL and oversee FG destruction at the 4PL.
• Perform Stock reconciliation (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Perform annual stock count at the 4PL.
• Oversee & manage daily operations with the 4PL in Switzerland.
• Establish and chair quarterly business reviews with the 4PL in Switzerland.
• Establish KPI’s (e.g., OTIF, Exceptions etc.) and monitor 4PLs performance in Switzerland.
• Create and control the annual budget for the external warehouse & logistics provider in
• Work closely with customs broker to ensure smooth importation of FG from EU into Switzerland
• Creation and maintenance of SOP, WI, etc.
• Exception handling, determine root causes, implement CAPAS and drive closures.
• Support Audits
• Support roll-out of IT tools
• Initiate and lead continuous improvement efforts.
• Single point of contact for the local business for supply chain related topics
• Ensure that handling and distribution of medicinal products are in accordance with regulatory requirements, GMP/GDP, and internal policies.

Education, Registration & Certification

• Commercial Apprenticeship and further education in Supply Chain
• APICS CSCP is a plus.

Professional Experience

• >5 years of professional experience in Supply Chain. Preferable within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry

• In-depth knowledge of 4PL distribution and customer service operations
• Excellent analytical, organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Experience in project management, collaborative partnerships, and supplier relationships
• Excellent negotiations skills
• Must be able to work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with all stakeholders of the organization.
• Must be result oriented and able to work independently with limited direction as part of and with cross functional teams.
• Strong business acumen
• Profound knowledge of GDP
• Thorough understanding of GDP and local regulations
• English and German are a requirement. Any other language is a plus
