Our International Programme Division is currently recruiting for the position of Manager Supply Chain and Services for the Afghanistan office. The job holder will head the function and is responsible to provide inputs to the strategic development of supply chain, IT, administration processes and systems across Islamic Relief Afghanistan. To deliver cost-effective business process improvements, control inventory budgets and oversee demand planning. This role will interface with field-based Operations, Finance, Programmes and HR teams to ensure a seamless stock management and delivery system in a cost-effective way.

Key responsibilities

· Direct the process which includes timely planning of procurement, inventory control, logistics, warehousing and distribution.

· Develop a long-term demand plan, increasing availability while reducing distribution costs.

· Ensures that every step of the process is functioning effectively to avoid costly delays and opportunities lost.

· Provide support to the project managers and management on issues related to supply chain and administration.

· Represent the Organization in internal and external forums on supply chain management.

· Ensure that ongoing tasks are continually being examined within the supply chain itself.

· Effectively manage IR assets and produce periodical reports for Management decision making

· Supporting the co-ordination and facilitation of contract requirements with vendors/ suppliers and procurement committees.

· Making the processes of procurement, administration, liaison, logistics and warehousing as cost effective as possible.

The successful candidate must have:

· Motivation to work independently and develop solutions to problems. Highly flexible in style with the ability to produce creative and pragmatic solutions to complex problems.

· Diplomacy and also ability to support others well and gain trust.

· Understanding of the complexities of working in a multicultural environment.

· Supply chain, administration strategies and planning.

· Record management skills.

· Systems or policies development skills

· Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

· Time management skills

· Relevant experience of working with humanitarian/development sector/INGOs
