AAA Northeast

Build and manage the Life & Annuity sales and service team, partner with senior management, Insurance Marketing, and AAA Life to develop and execute the business strategy, focusing on Agency growth and profitability. Manage the P&L as a separate line of business within AAA Northeast. Builds relationships with Insurance and Branch Management team, carrier partners and industry associations.

  • Provides leadership to the function and/or staff, ensuring proper staffing and training levels of all team members with a focus on development and building bench strength while also complying with appropriate professional standards, laws, regulations and operating within the Club’s mission, leadership values and the members’ interest.
  • Develops multi-year plans/budgets and manages the integration of all aspects of the function across all required Business Lines and geographies supported; maintaining knowledge and awareness of new developments in the function, potential applications to further Club initiatives and makes recommendations regarding the use of internal vs. external services, reporting on such activities and proposals and managing ongoing vendor relationships.   • Responsible for the life and annuity sales production within designated footprint through personal production and primarily through the motivation and leadership of the Life & Annuity Specialist team. Assists multi-line agents in soliciting and closing simple term and whole life opportunities while driving referrals of more complex cases to a Life Specialists. (20%)
  • Collaborate with the Company’s leadership team in the planning, development and implementation of consumer sales and marketing strategies, promotional campaigns and team incentives. (20%)
  • Maintain partnerships with life insurance company representatives and underwriters, enabling Life & Annuity Specialists to act as a liaison between their clients and the insurer in the event of a claim. (10%)
  • Maintain accurate paper/electronic records and facilitates reporting via the agency management system, including the leadership of the Life & Annuity Specialists accurate and complete customer files in Applied Epic. (10%)
  • Develop referral and networking sources that provide business opportunities in the personal, family and small business life insurance and retirement planning markets as well as value added referrals to other AAA team members. (10%)
  • Establish and maintain an understanding of the concepts and products available to meet client needs and capitalize on available opportunities. Support club success by recommending AAA membership, travel, and other financial service products to existing and prospective clients. (10%)

Education/Licenses/Certifications

Bachelors degree required, concentration in Business Administration, Management, or related field; or 6-8 years of additional relevant experience

Masters degree preferred

Current Life & Health Insurance License required

Industry designations (CLU, FLMI, etc.) preferred

Experience

7+ years Sales experience in insurance required

2+ years proven recent track record of success within the Life & Annuity industry required

5+ years Experience in the management of a sales force with a proven track record in recruiting and staffing, leadership to a defined sales objective and developing sales skills required

Familiarity with Agency Management Systems & proficiency with MS Office required
