How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Manager, IFS Employee Programs is responsible for leading the creation and implementation of strategic and tactical programs and initiatives to support the Employee Engagement for over 20,000 Flight Attendants and 200+ field leaders. This role will lead through the demonstration of Delta’s core values as outlined in Rules of the Road, and communicate a compelling view of the organization’s purpose and value in a way that helps others understand the importance and impact of their contributions.

  • Responsible for IFS Employee Engagement. Engage with front-line leaders and employees to help foster understanding of all Delta initiatives and processes
  • Provides direction and support for the IFS Engagement strategy across 14 IFS bases. Provides feedback to senior leadership on all relevant items and develops strategy support to senior leaders
  • Overall responsibility for employee engagement to include providing leadership support and direction to engagement team, leadership team and flight attendant contact experience team
  • Leverage and interpret various inputs and both qualitative and quantitative data to develop reactive and proactive strategies to address employee engagement needs across IFS
  • Liaises with labor relations in support of corporate directives; developing, implementing and supporting initiatives impacting a division of over 20,000 employees and leaders worldwide
  • Strong initiative and the ability to make proposals which could impact the entire division
  • Develops both strategic and tactical plans that create a safety-conscious environment resulting in employee safety and well-being
  • Responsible for leading a team (which may include matrixed reporting relationships) to manage and coordinate divisional strategies in support of IFS field operations and enhanced employee engagement
  • Oversees various surveys and feedback mechanisms, and collaborates with Delta HR, Labor and Legal departments to ensure all related communications are clear, understood, applicable, and relevant to IFS audience
  • Advocates for others. Leads and develop team members to develop specific behaviors, skills or knowledge needed to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in new responsibilities
  • Must have the ability to anticipate roadblocks and plan appropriately to mitigate risks
  • Drives efficiency and standardization where applicable
  • Must be a champion of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

  • Candidate must have proven leadership skills and possess a high level understanding of IFS systems and processes for communicating corporate and division policy and procedures
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization and across workgroups
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Must be highly proficient in written and oral communications and able to produce concise, relevant, strategically driven documents and presentations for senior leaders
  • Must demonstrate experience in managing complex processes within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to function effectively in a high stress environment and execute multiple priorities in a timely manner is critical
  • Ability to anticipate roadblocks and plan appropriately to mitigate risks
  • The candidate should be able to lead, communicate and influence a diverse group of leaders and front-line employees and support a 24/7 communication window within a broad scope of responsibility in a complex division and base environment

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred Qualifications)

  • Operational experience is highly preferred
  • College degree preferred
