Job Background/Overview:

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a passionate fundraiser and administrator, who will develop and deepen partnerships with the corporate sector in support of our mission to help refugees survive, recover and gain control of their future.

Since its inception in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. This role is part of the International Philanthropy and Partnerships (IPP) unit, which leads on the IRC’s engagement with corporations, foundations, and new global funding streams.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and be flexible when asked to shift priorities or tasks to meet the needs of management, the team and organization as requested. They should possess the desire to learn and grow in a fundraising support role, contribute positively to team culture, exemplify the values of the IRC – integrity, equality, service, and accountability – and demonstrate a commitment to and passion for the IRC’s mission.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the administrative needs of the Senior Director of Global Foundations & Trusts inclusive of grants management, reports, special projects, team meetings, and operational duties
  • Prepare and help with materials, agendas, and briefings for internal and external meetings
  • Steward a pool of mid-tier foundation donors with strategic communications throughout the year and during emergency responses
  • Collaborate with relevant teams across the IRC to maintain and develop donor materials that support foundation donor strategies such as info-sheets, newsletters, e-blasts, case studies, and presentations
  • Collaborate with other teams, including Prospect Research and Management, Analytics, and Operations, in support of key partnership strategies and projects
  • Assist with Salesforce-specific activities to maintain portfolio assignments, update records, request prospect research and employee engagement, track ongoing donor communication and activity as well as additional relationship management duties;
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and IRC program/support staff globally.
  • Undertake special assignments, as directed.

Job Requirements:

  • Work Experience: Minimum 2-3 years previous work experience, preferably gained in a development or fundraising team, non-profit, marketing, or sales team
  • Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
  • Sound written communications skills and verbal presentation skills;
  • Well-developed project management skills with the ability to take initiative, keep to timelines, and to prioritize between conflicting demands;
  • Understanding of the role of written communications in building and maintaining individual and institutional relationships;
  • Ability to collaborate and establish relationships with different internal teams, regardless of distance, to garner support for initiatives and to complete project effectively
  • Highly computer literate, to include Salesforce, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to respond quickly to changes in short-term work priorities;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data;
  • Dedication to fundraising for international development, humanitarian, human rights, social justice, and US immigrant communities
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree desirable but not required.

Working Environment:

This role requires working remotely part-time (i.e., telecommuting). Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled hours.

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US and UK-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
