Position summary:

Working in support of the Business Development team, the Business Development Manager will manage the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of select corporate contributors across the U.S. in addition to being responsible for the lead in health care professional strategy.

Location: The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a national organization with headquarters in New York and 39 chapters across the country. The ideal candidate will work well in a remote setting.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Senior Vice President of Business Development, Senior Director of Business Development, Director of Innovative Revenue, and Senior Manager of Business Development develop emerging relationships with Foundation’s corporate partners, including:
  • Cultivation of new partners
  • Proposal/presentation development and execution
  • Managing benefit fulfillment on executed contracts
  • Strategic planning and execution of health care professional partnerships
  • Provide strategic guidance to other departments to maximize corporate opportunities and ensure revenue targets are met
  • Manage relationships along with Senior Manager with emerging partners, including membership fulfillment
  • Liaise between the Foundation’s field staff and the national office RE: corporate partnerships
  • Develop and manage pipeline of potential supporters for Foundation programs
  • Write strong proposals & presentations, acknowledgments, reports and other communications based on national materials
  • Assist in development and execution of meetings at major conferences
  • Assist in presenting and execution of clinical trial promotions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-3 years of relevant industry business development experience, or fundraising experience and familiarity with philanthropic best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, exercising good judgment in prioritization
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Superior writing skills to craft compelling proposals and targeted, meaningful communications
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations to junior through executive-level colleagues/partners
  • Collaborative attitude: strong ability to work well with other departments and local chapters
  • Computer proficiency including word, excel, and PowerPoint
  • Commitment to maintaining the integrity of a central database
  • Experience and excitement with prospecting for new business, managing a pipeline of potential clients, and working through a sales cycle
  • Preferred experience in working with healthcare professionals

  • Physical Demands: While performing duties of the job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
  • Occasional weeknight and weekend work may be required with travel.
