Manager Delivery Operations (all genders)

Zalando Premium Logistics (ZPL) is responsible for creating convenient same and next day premium delivery experiences in urban areas. To achieve that, we monitor the entire supply chain from our warehouse to actually handing the parcel to our customer. Our team’s goal is to create innovative logistics services to improve our delivery product features while ensuring our customers’ happiness. We have set ambitious targets to scale our reach, both geographically and in terms of shipping volumes, to enable more Zalando customers to enjoy the convenience of our premium service. Luckily, our team is very easy going with a strong “make it happen” attitude. Everyone’s unique background contributes to the success of our product. We have fun brainstorming together, trying out cool new stuff like electric delivery vehicles or e-bikes, and work on exciting projects with our strategic partners.

ZPL’s Germany Operations department is looking for a Delivery Operations Manager to help us to become the most customer centric and technologically advanced premium urban logistics solution in Zalando markets. In this role, you will be responsible for managing some of our largest delivery areas in Germany by providing best in class delivery quality at the required capacity levels through your excellent relationship management with our last mile service providers.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• You’ll efficiently and effectively govern last mile delivery and sortation hub operations in key delivery areas in Germany
• You’ll ensure that we can meet the demand for premium logistics and achieve our quality and profitability targets by working closely with your logistics service providers
• You’ll be a key contributor in network scaling activities. You’ll manage change in your delivery areas through continuous process development while applying analytical thinking and methodical approaches

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have an academic background in business administration, logistics or similar, and/or professional experience in transport or courier/ last mile logistics
• You are capable to work with and understand relevant logistics KPIs and derive meaningful actions for your area of responsibility
• You show initiative, good judgment, collaboration, understanding of deadlines and competence to work on multiple tasks and under pressure until completion
• You are able to ensure smooth operations and great professional relationships through your strong communication skills in German and English
