PSI’s IF team is part of the Global Fundraising Department, and offers assistance to field-based programs when responding to the US government, DFID, KFW, Global Fund, corporate, foundation, and other donor requests for proposals. IF also provides additional fundraising support to PSI country platforms facing funding shortfalls and increasingly will support fundraising for new health areas. The team also builds the capacity of PSI country platforms to prepare proposals. The IF Manager will be based in Washington, D.C., with approximately 10-20% overseas travel, and report to the Senior Manager, Institutional Fundraising.

PSI seeks a Manager, Business Development that will manage all aspects of proposal development by leading a team of field and headquarters staff to conduct capture planning, program design, and proposal writing; this includes establishing and enforcing timelines, designating roles and responsibilities, identifying and negotiating with partner organizations, coordinating inputs, and overseeing proposal submission. Lead departmental projects, including capacity building and process improvements.

Responsibilities****Your contributions

-Leads proposal development and writing on strategically important bids, including facilitating strategy discussions, drafting the narrative (including executive summary, technical approach, staffing and management, monitoring and evaluation, organizational capabilities, etc.) and incorporating reviewer feedback. 40% of the Time -Leads capture planning for upcoming proposals. 15% of the Time -Leads PSI inputs on sub roles for partner-led proposals. 15% of the Time -Leads projects that contribute to PSI’s systems for identifying and pursuing new business, including proposal process improvements. 10% of the Time -Reviews and copy edits proposals led by technical and field teams. 10% of the Time -Supports copy editing and formatting proposals. 5% of the Time -Provides mentorship and training to junior IF staff. 5% of the Time Time percentages listed above are not exact. Qualifications

What are we looking for?

-Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in health, policy, international development, or a related field. -Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in health or international development preferred. -At least 7 years of experience in business development, fundraising, professional writing, or international development (international health sector preferred). Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted. ‘-Demonstrated experience leading proposal and concept note development or fundraising/grantwriting of increasing complexity.
