Management Accountant = fin-operator

As one of our highly efficient fin-operators you’ll make processing the day-to-day transactions a breeze. Manual archaic processes will very quickly become a thing of the past! This role is all about embracing and leveraging technology and software to create beautifully efficient and effective finance functions.

You’ll be working across a portfolio of companies, likely to be in different industries and at different stages of their journey. One week that might be two startup’s, the next a balance between an established SME and an NGO. You’ll be able to make a real impact with each and every organisation you work with and be a key player in the finance function.

What’s also hugely significant about this role is being a team player and a strong communicator. This is as much about people as it is about an awesome finance function. You’ll need to be a superhero strength when it comes to organising your time and having the agility, focus and attention to detail to enable you to work across more than one company in a given week.

Your day to day

Working across your portfolio of clients you’ll be performing the following tasks:

• Processing: Manage the smooth processing of transactions, ensuring a well governed, efficient, and effective fin-ops infrastructure is in place. This will involve regular interaction with wider teams and people across each client you work on.
• Task management: Ensure weekly and monthly routine tasks are completed and updated in our task management software.
• Credit control: Maintain excellent oversight of the credit control process and take the necessary steps, where appropriate, to ensure funds are received.
• Payment runs: Prepare the payment run for review with a view to optimising cash flow management and keeping customers and suppliers happy too!
• Month end: Assist and in some cases lead in the preparation of month end. Identify and post relevant journals
• Analysis: Review month end reports and summaries providing insight around main trends and highlights for the month, including explanations for variances to targets and/or budgeted numbers.

You will need

• Qualified AAT or part qualified ACCA or CIMA is desirable
• 2 years’ experience working in-house in a Management Accountant / Bookkeeper / Financial Analyst role
• Experience with Xero and/or Quickbooks is ideal
• Excellent communication and people skills with high levels of self-awareness
• Superb attention to detail
• Impeccable time-management and overall organisation skills with an ability to multi-task across different clients each day!
