Job Description Summary Machining and Model Based Manufacturing team supports GE Aviation’s production sites on digital manufacturing, machining processes modeling & simulation and development & industrialization of repair processes. In this role you will act as a member of the project team. While delivering, will gain machining process knowledge, CAD/CAM and physics-based modeling skills as well as digital manufacturing concept.
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be responsible for assigned tasks within each project with moderate complexity. May either meet day-to-day short-term objectives or deliver following a mid-term plan. Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with documentation and analysis of the test data mainly acquired from a machining process on a CNC
- Use soft tools to effectively digitize, store and analyze the test results
- Use CAD tools to support machine, tool, fixture libraries as part of digital manufacturing
- Question the current process and bring new ideas
Qualifications/Requirements
- Major in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Familiarity with a CAD software
- Experience on a programming language/software. Preferably MATLAB, C#, Python.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Intermediate skills in MS Office tools
