The mission
Digital rights management (DRM) is a technology for delivering and securing copyrighted media content in the Over The Top (OTT) business. Automated monitoring systems are used to ensure the quality and security of the DRM service. An anomaly detection system has been developed to identify abnormal behaviors based on various data sources, e.g., application logs, resource monitoring logs and user activity logs. However, anomaly detection is a challenging problem due to the sparse occurrence of anomalous events, inconsistent behavior of different types of anomalies, and imbalanced available data for normal and abnormal scenarios. The lack of anomalous data makes the validation of the model’s performances difficult, preventing us from showing the real value of the built solution to our clients.
The Role
The objective of this project is to explore and implement multiple methods to synthetically generate anomalous data, starting from a small number of anomalies that we were able to collect over time. They can be created by using different algorithms that mirror the statistical properties of the original data.
Your missions at Irdeto
- Study/review existing synthetic data generation methods
- Design a data generation method based on statistical or machine learning techniques
- Implement a proof-of-concept to show the effectiveness of the method
How Can You Add Value To The Team
- Students currently studying in the fields of science and technology in the Netherlands
- Experience with, and interest in, machine learning
- Programming skills (preferably in Python)
- Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
