POSITION: MARKETING MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Implement first-in-class trade campaigns to propel the equity, sales & desirability of Guerlain in UK & Ireland
Responsible for overall marketing strategy for Guerlain in UK & Ireland; developing a coherent full 360 marketing calendar including innovation launches, re-support opportunities and seasonal campaigns.
Maintain within the allocated Marketing budget & in partnership with the Sales team build solid trade plans to deliver targeted sales, profit and market share for Guerlain

 

Main Responsibilities

STRATEGY & PRODUCT PLANNING

Contribute to build the strategy for the brand (3YP) with the Marketing Director
Create annual brand plans (full year and phased): key franchise forecast targets, A+P expenditure, forecasts for basic and promo lines.
Create regular reporting on key franchise performance during key budget moments & Brand Meetings according to the calendar
Work very closely with Paris teams to execute local adaptation of each launch platform from HQ and implement best recommendations & actions for the category
Ensure marketing activities contribute to Guerlain brand desirability at all times ensuring the relevant approval from HQ are secured.
Manage the relevant A+P budget throughout the year: with meticulous attention to PO raising
Forecast & ensure adequate stock coverage for all category items (products, samples, testers, GWPs) – working with Product Managers to ensure
Review pricing strategy & work with international pricing team for new product launches.

 

TRADE

Work hand-in-hand with the Sales & Retail teams and rest of the Marketing team to create bespoke activation plans for retailers to support key launches and exclusive products & any commercial festival moments (Christmas, Mother’s Day etc)
Act as a champion for Product Marketing across the business to ensure swift communication of all plans: including monthly sampling, gifts & POSM materials sent to stores
Work closely with Retail team, with regular store visits, to action feedback & needs of the teams in-store, maximising the productivity of marketing efforts
Plan and implement innovative image-driven events for Flagships
Work closely with Retail Team to create a bespoke eventing & animation plan to drive footfall & sales for the Covent Garden Boutique,
Work closely with CRM & rest of the marketing team to help drive Clienteling efforts across the business including VIP eventing
Manage local suppliers & ensure consistency in all locally produced materials.
Manage presentation of all launch activations and promotions internally and externally.
Create post-launch analysis reports to monitor, maximize profitability and ensure winning formulas are shared across the business.

 

LOGISTICS

Monitor expenditures by activity in line with budgets taking corrective action when necessary.
Establish forecasting for all new launches as well as basic lines and promo for the relevant category.
Ensure adequate stock coverage for all products through forecasting accuracy and quota management with supply team and Customer Services.
Ensure that all activities are carried out with budget parameter as agreed with Marketing Director.

Profile

6 years’ experience in Marketing and Sales in luxury goods in retail industry and / or FMCG
Knowledge and understanding of UK retail market place.
Proven track record of negotiations with key UK Beauty retailers.
Degree in Marketing / Business Studies or similar
Inherent interest & passion for the Guerlain brand
