Overview: DT Global is seeking multiple long-term experts to support the upcoming USAID-funded Green Recovery Investment Platform (GRIP). GRIP aims to mobilize increased finance for climate mitigation and adaptation interventions that leads to system changes and long-lasting impacts:

Climate Finance & Investment Advisors (DC-based)

§ Impact investing experience to mobilize finance for climate change mitigation and adaptation, clean energy transition, and nature-based solutions

§ Demonstrated ability in the development and execution of impact investment strategies

§ Experience in investment pipeline development and evaluating market viability for climate investment opportunities

§ Experience overseeing financial transactions or deals for market-based climate, green projects or nature-based solutions, and/or commercialization of start-ups (including incubation) and scale-ups

§ Deep understanding of blended finance structuring

§ Ability to provide oversight and guidance to subcontractors and short-term technical experts

§ Familiarity with USAID’s climate priorities and an understanding of the agency’s approach to mobilizing private sector financing

§ A demonstrated commitment to inclusive economic models and an inclusive enabling environment

Strategic Partnerships and PSE Advisors (DC-based)

§ Ability to identify and nurture relationships with investors, private sector companies, US government entities, international financing institutions, as well as international funds

§ Successful track record defining partnership strategies and developing networks to facilitate/bring climate finance transactions or deals to close, including deals that benefit vulnerable and disadvantaged populations

§ Experience in the promotion of investment opportunities and ability to connect global actors to regional and local climate finance ecosystems**

§ Outstanding communication skills and ability to translate complex financial or technical requirements in a simple way

§ Familiarity with USAID’s climate priorities and an understanding of the agency’s approach to mobilizing private sector financing

§ Commitment to engaging traditional financial sector actors, and non-traditional, such as women or youth entrepreneur networks, Indigenous Peoples and civil society organizations

Learning and Innovation Advisors (DC-based)

§ Experience in the design and execution of learning agendas and knowledge sharing initiatives related to climate finance

§ Experience leveraging knowledge, data, and evidence to better understand the development impact potential of blended finance, or other instruments and market-based approaches in implementation

§ Climate research and/or investment industry experience, preferably with emphasis in climate change, energy systems, and ESG analytics

§ Ability to understand/analyze and generate information on climate scenarios and associated investment risks and opportunities

§ Familiarity with climate scenarios, integrated assessment models, and energy systems models strongly preferred

§ Familiarity with USAID’s climate priorities and an understanding of the agency’s approach to mobilizing private sector financing

Regional Directors (Regional/In-country based):

§ Experience providing technical and managerial leadership for the development and execution of climate investment strategies regionally (LAC, Asia or Africa)

§ Experience linking climate finance actors and building investment ecosystems that connect local to regional and global actors to increase investments in target region

§ Ability to identify and nurture relationships with investors, private sector companies, government entities, international financing institutions, non-traditional financial actors, such as women or youth entrepreneur networks, Indigenous Peoples and civil society organizations, NGOs, among other key actors

§ Experience overseeing financial due diligence and assessing commercial viability of investment opportunities and new business models for climate change mitigation and adaptation, clean energy transition, and nature-based solutions

§ An awareness of economic related impacts and recovery efforts related to COVID, globally, and within regions

Education & Minimum Qualifications:

§ Advanced degree in environmental science, public policy, engineering, geology, sustainability, agriculture, international affairs, ecology, or related fields

§ At least 10 years of experience in climate change, climate finance, disaster risk reduction, nature-based solutions, and/or adaptation and mitigation strategies

§ Knowledge or experience working with USAID or other donor funded programs

§ Knowledge, experience and commitment to gender and social inclusion issues related to climate finance, mobilizing private and public capital, COVID and development outcomes

§ Demonstrated skill in using terminology and concepts related to international development issues

§ Proficiency in English required. Proficiency in Spanish, Arabic, French, and other languages preferred
