Logistics Specialist (Remote)

Job Description

The Logistics Specialist will assist with daily shipment activity for the Company. The candidate will report to Logistics Supervisor. This candidate will work with a variety of departments to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods. This role is a vital part of a team responsible for executing the day-to-day logistics activity for international and domestic shipments.

Job Duties

• Daily processing of domestic and international shipments (Email, EDI)
• Daily entry shipment invoices in the system
• Daily shipment record creation in the system
• Daily reconciliation of shipment/invoice system entries against paperwork
• Interfaces with internal/external customers, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers, and carriers to gather necessary documentation for timely movement of goods into and out of the US and Canada
• Processes inbound shipment activity, gathers necessary paperwork, processes shipment records, and releases shipment authorization to Customs Broker.
• Organizes and arranges shipment of all inbound orders maintaining shipping schedules and customs clearance timing.
• Reviews audits and processes freight invoices for payment.
• Reconciles shipping invoices to Purchase Orders and acts on discrepancies.
• Coordinates inbound shipments daily with the warehouse and shipping teams.
• Coordinates and prioritizes day-to-day activities for inbound shipments
• Saves documents in the network shared drive repository for record-keeping
• Daily monitoring of warehouse discrepancy report (MIA). Candidate will gather missing information, engages with Buyer for information needed

Requirements

• 1-3 years of logistics experience
• The candidate must be able to multitask and work on several projects at once
• Candidate must be detailed oriented and have attention to detail
• AS400 experience a plus
• Proficient in MS Office applications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
