The position is open to Ukranian nationals only and to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. The employment location will be Kyiv, Ukraine.

Alliance15 members Welthungerhilfe (WHH), Concern Worldwide and Cesvi are working together in Ukraine using their combined resources and reach, to ensure a quick and effective emergency response to assist the crisis-affected population. This response, known as JERU (Joint Emergency Response Ukraine), is working inside of Ukraine to support conflict affected communities.

As Logistics Manager for our JERU response, your aim will be to provide professional logistical and procurement support to projects and programmes in Ukraine.

Your responsibilities

  • Compile and support the field logs of the Framework Agreements with the managers in the country
  • Ensure that all Logistics records for the field office are archived/filed on the JERU MS Teams platforms
  • Manage centrally the rental vehicles agreement for all offices from procuring them, establishing the agreements, and training the drivers on the WHH Fleet standards of driver conduct
  • Prepare the weekly driver roster based on the planned weekly movements
  • Ensure that security approval has been granted for all movements that require security approval beforehand
  • Prepare and compile the reports for transport, fuel management, procurement trackers, and warehousing and submit them to the Head of Operations for review
  • Identify buildings in areas agreed by the Security and Safety Advisor to establish any office, guesthouse/storage facilities that may be required
  • Support the IT officer to manage the mobile phones in the office
  • Ensure that all assets are tagged, tracked, and issued appropriately for all of Ukraine.
  • Support the Security Officer in carrying out assessments/gathering information if required on the local, regional and national context in Ukraine
  • Support the establishment of service providers’ contracts as and when requested
  • Liaise with the West Ukraine team for the movement of goods from the main warehouse to the partner warehouses for distribution and ensure that there is a WHH presence for the receiving of the trucks at the distribution site/WHH warehouse/partner warehouse
  • Assist in the monitoring of distributions as and when required and ensure transparency and account process
  • Analyze the proposed logistics structure in Ukraine and propose any changes required with the Head of Operations with particular emphasis on ensuring value for money and efficient Supply Chain management
  • Carry out the larger procurements for the Ukraine programme that would require tendering process and support the Head of Operations with these procurements
  • Participate fully in the Logistics Cluster and any other official working groups as a representative of the JERU logistics

Your profile

  • Professional qualification/formal technical college training, Bachelor’s Degree qualification in a related field, and several years of professional experience.
  • 3-5 job-related professional experience in the field of Supply Chain Management (logistics, procurement, warehouse management, etc.)
  • Strong MS Teams skills
  • Willingness to travel within Ukraine
  • Fluency in Ukrainian
  • Russian and or English language skills are an asset
