Logistics Manager (Supply Chain)

The purpose of this position is to satisfy clients request by guaranteeing the efficient inbound and outbound flow of goods, in accordance with company standards and procedures.

The Logistics Manager reports to the Plant Manager.

The role of Logistics Manager is based on the following activities:

HSE STANDARDS:

  • Follows and supervises the application of safety rules according to company policies and regulations.
  • Maintains order, organization, and cleanliness in all assigned areas, working in line with correct workplace hygiene practices, with the aim to be an example to others.
  • Manages the waste disposal process (suppliers, documentation, tracking system, etc.).

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT:

  • Plans the production program in coordination with the production manager.
  • Assists in planning and monitoring production in relation to material requirements and consumption, warehouse capacity and stock levels.

CLIENTS’ ORDERS MANAGEMENT:

  • Receives and handles customers’ sales orders.
  • Manages the deliveries of finished product to customers, solving any discrepancies between plant’s capacity and customers’ needs.

WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT:

  • Supervises the warehouse management, keeping the FIFO.
  • Identifies, implements and leads improvement projects to streamline flow and remove bottlenecks.
  • Plans and manages periodical inventories.

PRODUCTION MATERIAL HANDLING:

  • Manages the stock of raw materials ensuring continuity of production according to customers’ orders and considering materials lead time.
  • Prepares purchase orders for materials and services needed.
  • Supervises the inventory of raw materials, finished products and packaging on a regular basis.
  • Supports the Global Procurement team by communicating raw materials needs and coordinating deliveries.

TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT:

  • Negotiates the delivery schedule with transportation contractors according to production capacity and warehouse availability.
  • Plans and manages deliveries and transfer of materials, finished products, spare parts, samples, etc.
  • Manages all transport documentation (picking lists, issuing sales orders, delivery notes, etc.) and import/export procedures.

ERP SYSTEM HANDLING:

  • Manges material and finished product movement in SAP.
  • Supports Global Sales and R&D teams in new product listing and SAP configuration.
  • Collaborates with Global ERP team to ensure continuous improvement.

TEAM MANAGEMENT:

  • Manages the warehouse staff activities and priorities, eliminating bottlenecks and addressing critical issues.

COMMUNICATION AND COOPERATION:

  • Promotes successful long-term business strategies by effective, open two-way communication and feedback.
  • Ensures smooth integration and communication with other functions.

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of the supply chain process
  • Excellent applied knowledge of WCM standards
  • Good knowledge of plastic molding technologies (EBM and/or SBM and/or IM)
  • Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment rules and practices
  • Good applied knowledge of an ERP system (preferably SAP)
  • Excellent knowledge of English

Education and Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree in engineering or in the logistics field or equivalent experience

– Minimum 5 years’ experience in Logistics in an FMCG company
