All About The Role

The Logistics Country Manager is one of the most fast-paced positions Just Eat Takeaway.com has to offer; it requires an outstanding combination of talent, resilience, and leadership. As the leader of our logistics business and delivery operations in Switzerland, you will be responsible for the development and growth of our business and people.

As the Country Manager, you’ll also be responsible for operational excellence and maintaining and continuously improving logistics quality throughout the Courier’s experience, customer support, supply chain/logistics management, and service quality management.

This role requires excellent collaboration across different functional and specialised teams and can bridge the gap with the City, Country, and HQ teams. We need leaders that are innovators and can build, mentor, and encourage strong teams to reach their potential. We believe in solving local problems with local solutions, so understanding your market and delivering custom messages is important.

As a member of the Logistics Leadership Team you will report directly to the Regional Director, based in JET’s headquarters in Amsterdam.

Your Role

• Be the face of Logistics in Switzerland. Act as the leading force for our market, develop and champion the strategy, and mobilise resources to execute the strategy
• Identify and deliver growth initiatives such as geographic expansion, restaurant delivery area optimisation and service time extensions.
• Be accountable for the quality of delivery service and associated KPI’s that impact couriers, customers, restaurants.
• Share responsibility with the finance team for the P&L outcomes from operating the service, improving our unit economics, reaching profitability targets for the country, forecasting, budget management and leading optimisation strategy and execution
• Ensure the delivery service is operated compliantly and with a high regard for the safety of all stakeholders involved
• Communicate product/process needs to HQ, work with product/engineering to deliver on them
• Work with Central Operations and other Country Managers to develop and share best practices
• Lead, manage and develop a highly engaged and talented team of direct and indirect reports
• Continue to grow and build upon today to drive a sustainable business for tomorrow
• Champion our culture (Lead, Deliver, Care) and employee brand
• Lead commercial and operational efforts with potential 3rd party logistics providers.
• Lead local regulatory concerns and local politics in partnership with our Policy, Legal, and Communications teams
• Collaborate with marketing teams to initiate creative local strategies and courier growth campaigns
• Partner with the Just Eat Country Director to establish the team’s strategic objectives, represent the function within the Country business and to contribute to the thought leadership within the global organisation

Ready to take the lead? Here is what we need from you:

• Extensive years of experience within a General Management / Strategy / Operations / role.
• High strategic acumen; logical and quick thinking, with a first rate attention to detail
• Very strong numerical and analytical ability
• Excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Proven track record to deliver and to achieve challenging KPIs
• Resilience; proven ability to work under pressure, tight deadlines, and respond to unplanned events as required
• Self-motivatiation with the ability to thrive in a fast moving, ever changing environment
• Proven ability to lead, coach and inspire a high performing multidisciplinary team and to attract top talent
• Demonstrable experience identifying, initiating and executing highly successful strategic and/or operational initiatives
• Fluency in German or French and English (Swiss German a plus)
• Ability to fuse business, strategy, finance, and legal concepts to lead complex, multi-faceted business.
• Experience in social relations with authorities, regulators, unions and lobbying topics is a plus.
